Default Seat swap

Hello,
Has anyone installed the htd/pwr seats from an SLK 320 in the XF ('04 coupe)? I'd hope to gain a more comfortable seat that also reclines further---the movable headrest on the SLK seat might enable a greater recline angle.

There were posts on the forum from years ago about this, but no one posted who actually did the swap.

So I'm wondering in the subsequent years if anyone has done this.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Essentially the "Base" Crossfire comes with the manual, (heatless) Mercedes SLK seat.
I don't think it will afford you any more space to recline, but I think they may give you slightly more head room. (At least it felt that way to me the last time I sat in one).

You need to get out your Sawzall and read Padgetts post.

It took me almost 3 years of ownership to find the most comfortable seat position. If I move the seat forward about an inch or so instead of completely back, that gives me more room to recline before the seatback hits the bulkhead. Its harder to get in and out in that position so I just move the seat each time but I have finally found the seating sweet spot.

Thanks for the responses.

If Padgetts threads are about the bulkhead modification in which he lowered the height behind the seats, I saw and read those some time ago and found them interesting. At this point taking on such a large project is more than what I'd likely do. Great idea though.

Get shorter legs...(kidding)

Im 6'-2" and I agree with Sparkie. I have found that if I move the seat forward a little, adjust the steering wheel, I can recline the seatback a few inches for a comfortable position. However, although the position is quite comfortable - I could probably use a little more cushion for "me bum".

Maybe I need to get a fatter butt!
