Re: Brand New Coupe - $35,000 !
In 1970 I paid $3,400 for my lime green black c-striped AMX with its close ratio stick, ram air, full leather, rear deck luggage carrier and factory side pipes (dealer add-ons).
I kept it seven years and sold it for about what I paid for it but I should have kept it along with my ex's 68. They are both worth considerably more today than then despite their no longer being produced and AMC being no more. In fact their limited production adds to the value.
The Crossfire is the only car that has reminded me of that AMX. I always felt it was what a 2005 AMX would be.
It is only the enthusiasts that own them that can run the values down.

Re: Brand New Coupe - $35,000 !
I gave $3400 for a '69 Z-28 Camaro in 1970 too.... But I don't think whether I run the prices down or not will the XF ever command what the AMX and Z-28's would bring today....I hope I am wrong, since I have invested in two... But, I wouldn't sell either at a low price... Both modded well, spotless, and always garaged and covered, but driven from time to time...
