I don't know if the guy at Alpine didn't know it's an SLK, or "it doesn't have a MB badge, so I'm not touching it" mentality.

Karmann badge's are aftermarket. Karmann used to give them away before they went out of business.

Scirocco16v
I called the local MB dealer to get a read for an intermittent esp/bas light which causes me to lose my cruise control when the light is on. They told me they had trouble reading all the codes for xfr. Are you saying that they need to tell the computer it is an 04 SLK 320 and then it could read all the codes?

Thanks
Loumas

You are correct again, contrary to what most people say the 320SLK does have a Kompressor.

It is used to inflate the tires.

Think since 1996 the basic things have been standardised with ODB-II. Torque on my phone has no problen reading the available parameters and and trouble codes for the Crossfire. True there are a lot less available than for my '12 Jeep but it does not need to know what the car is to read them.

That's the simple answer, the more complex one is that every manufacturer also has undocumented codes and parameters and these seem to be Chrysler. Folks doing tuning probably know.
