Crossfire Sightings
Re: Crossfire Sightings
When I bought mine, a black coupe 2004 XF, in Oct I drove to Long Islang on the 3 lane Cross-Island Pkwy, next thing I know there was a white couope and another black coupe to my right. A commercial could not have planned it better. We drove in-line for about 3 miles while the rest of traffic stood back and watched. Eventually they exited and I kept going. There were a few rides afterwards that drove next to me and honked. PS: I have never been asked to race more often than now!
Re: Crossfire Sightings
Alright.....I saw a black coupe on I-95 in Milford, CT Sunday night. I got so excited I passed it too fast and couldn't watch it drive. My girlfriend was laughing because I was beeping and waving. I wanted to watch it drive for awhile as it was just like mine. I had to get off the exit though They waved as they passed me again
Re: Crossfire Sightings
I drive M-53 every day to and from work, I live in Shelby and have a Black Xfire Coupe. Trust me though, it was not me who tried to race your husband's vette. I have more brains then that. How are you liking the Xfire in the snow?

He DC'd me about it, we had lunch together and were returning to our respective places of work, and at the exact moment he was talking to me, I saw a blonde girl, kind of young looking, in a black coupe. I think Black seems to be the most common color in the greater Detroit area right now. The woman that works at a tanning salon here owns a black coupe also. She parks it right in the middle of an unpopulated lot, so it's hard to miss :teeth:
I live on a dirt road too, about 1/4 mile, and I hand wash it often.

MiCrossfire,
My roadster is garaged for the winter. If it rains a LOT and washes all the salt off the roads, and dries off, and is really really nice outside, I might bring it out for a ride, but other than that, I'm waiting for spring. I hate doing that, but I hate driving in the snow, and don't want to worry about someone running into it or something!
How's yours doing? I know the weather is warming up a little this weekend, cause we were snowmobiling up in the Petosky area, but it's melting and the trails were terrible, so we came home early.
Happy New Year!

Catman:
Isn't that funny, I did that last night too!
2 feet of snow dumped last night, didn't see any Xfires today or my knees!
Excuse me well I go ask my wife why we live here!
Don't get me wrong, my wife doesn't control me, she just directs where I should be going!

Re: Crossfire Sightings
I met a guy named Steve today.
Followed him east on Liberty in Aurora and a couple turns later we stopped and got out of our Crossfires.
He owns a Black Coupe and has had it about 6 months now.
He hadn't heard of the forum here but seem quite interested as I began to tell him about it.
I gave him my member card and he said he would be joining and mentioning our meeting today. Gary

I saw a Black Coupe with a woman driving at 11:30 this morning on Eola rd at Liberty in Aurora,Ill.
At the stoplight I gave her my card and told her to check out the forum.
She also has some sweet chrome aftermarket wheels on her Crossfire and the car was beautiful.

Last night when I came out of Best Buy, there was a black xfire in the parking lot that was very dirty and suffered a bit of a "brake dust problem" with cat paw prints all over the hood. I waited for a minute while I talked on my cell phone to see if the owner would come out so I could comment on the lack of care their car receives. After a few minutes I began to exit the parking lot. As I left, a family was checking out the black xfire. When the kid saw me he yelled to his dad "There's another one!" One block from the store, I drove through an intersection where I saw a white roadster sitting at the light to the left.
Just thought I'd share this rare occasion.

I don't see that many around central PA either. I bought mine almost two months ago now and other than the two women I work with that drive them have not seen many others. I tend to stay on the West shore though and don't get over to Harrisburg except one or twice a week.
Re: Crossfire Sightings
In the East Bay area of Northern California, I can go a week or two without seeing another Crossfire on the road. And I've never seen a SRT6. That's cool with me, why Ford with the masses. I can't think of another car that's been in production since '04 that I see as few of. The Pontiac Aztec comes to mind (ugh!) Cany you guys think of other cars built over 3-5 years as apparently scarce as ours?
Not counting exotic super cars, here's my scarce siting list:
Ford 500
Ford T-bird (most recent incarnation)
Pintiac Aztec
Dodge Viper
Saab 9-7
Cadillac XLR
anything recently from Isuzu
Audi A8
Mazda RX-8
Crossfire
