I am one of you now
Hi: I have been posting as Type Dougie the last few days.
I did it. I bought my 2004 Alabaster White Crossfire last night. It was used and had 3,300 miles on it. I traded in my 2003 RSX Type S. It is a very different car than the Acura but my girlfiend and I believe it is a step or two above that car.
It has the following options attached to it:
1. Clear Bra (wasn't sure about this till I saw it, I am on board with this)
2. Professionally lowered at Mercedes 3/4 of an inch
3. Mercedes Carbon Fiber Brakes
4. Two tone leather (grey & black)
5. 6 speed manual
Attached is a picture of my new ride.
I am excited to be a part of this forum, I will say goodbye to clubrsx and make this my new home for killing time while at work. ha ha ha
oh and i noticed the speaker cover is broken on the driver side, looks like the door swings and hits the knee. i hope that is covered under warranty.
Thanks,
Doug

Sounds like you might know this car if his answers all come up affirmative. I hope he answers because were anxious to find out the story.
Re: I am one of you now
this car was owned by a friend in heath, ohio. he purchased the car new as an extra car for the sunny days. i installed the clear 3M film (invinca-shield / xpel), rotex dust-free brake pads (front & rear), painted the rear tow hook, debadged the car (dealer must of re-installed the c-r-o-s-s-f-i-r-e badge) and had the eibach springs (pro-kit) installed @ MAG after hours. i just spoke with the previous owner today and he stated, he gave the car to his son a couple of months ago and his son really wanted a srt 4 neon instead...so they traded the crossfire in on the srt 4 about 3 weeks ago.
the car was well cared for! enjoy!

Re: I am one of you now
oh thank god.
i called the dealer already quasi upset. thank you for the clarification!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Oh, BTW the wheel wells in the back are spray painted white did you do that too.
They said that the brake pads were carbon fiber and that it was professionally lowered at Mercedes which isn't true if you put Eibach pro kits on.
Do those lesson the life of the shocks?
Also the clear bra is starting to lift in 2 places. one tiny one on the driver right door and several on the grooves on the hood. is that normal or do i need to get it fixed.
You did excellent work by the way, the xcel looks fantastic!

the pads are not carbon fiber...they are made of dust free material...great pads!
the cars eibach springs (a mercedes part number) were installed at Mid Western Auto Group by the shop foreman after hours. i had my springs installed at Crown Mercedes after hours via a technician but the tech was no longer allowed to do work on the side so i went to MAG for your cars install. the factory shocks will be fine with eibach springs.
as for the clear film...i will have to take a look at it.
feel free to email me and i will give you my cell number. handwax1@aol.com
cheers!
Re: I am one of you now
Awesome. Congrats on your new ride man.
I know Andrew from posting on here since the start of the website, and I know everything he does is very meticulous. So I'd consider yourself really lucky to get such a sweet car, with everything done properly! I wouldn't worry too much about the little things, like the fact they said Carbon Fiber brakes, when they just meant Rotex dust free. They are really good brake pads but they aren't Carbon Fiber.. lol.. Anyway you'll be fine, dealers aren't too knowledgable about aftermarket stuff, so you can't hold it against them.
All in all you probably got an awesome deal on an awesome car. Enjoy.

As I was telling Andrew the gentlement that owned the car originally had it where I went to college at Denison in OH. The coincidence is amazing.
I am so excited I hate to get back to this work thing to pay for it.
Also, how do I get the luggage for this car since I assume the original owner kept it?

I have never heard that DC is actually selling the luggage separate but it would not surprise me that they are somewhere. You might want to check with a dealer or possibly someone else knows more about this.
This was a great story and once agaiin, I'm sure you will enjoy that car. Safe driving.
