whats faster my old crossfire limited n/a or my new 2010 eclipse gt spyder?
they are totally ndifferent rides and both have theyre fun parts just curious and id like to start a conversation going

The Eclipse, 14.5 sec, at 99mph. In the coupe.
Best stock time for the NA XF Coupe, 6 spd. is 14.7. (according to Road and Track).
Eclipse roadster is a little heavier, so it would probably depend on the driver.
Rear wheel drive should launch a little better, but 50 more H.P. might be enough to reel it in.
Didn't mean to sound flipant, I thought everybody knew the NA XF wasn't a drag car.lol.

 

It has 263HP, so I guess it depends on the weight. Sounds like a fair fight to me.

 

ummmno im not kidding stock to stock and after 09 i believe it got 265 hp (small i know not being a smart *** i promise i love this forum kinda why i still check it out sometimes)

i have a hard time teling because of the move from rwd to fwd . both cars are fun but before 350z used to inch on me now im dead even but thats also from a roll

 

I think John ran a 14.6 in his NA with a six speed, but I believe it was stock.

i have no idea about 1/4 mile times but i know mivec doesnt kick in in that last gear which hurts

 

Ouch, 5.8 is no slouch. Just install a 50 shot in the Eclipse and you'll be good to go.

 

I like the Eclipse, a lot. But the questions is which is faster? Assuming +fireamx is right , "everybody knows the NA is not a drag car,,,, I would suggest perhaps the question may relate to top end.

Stock, what will an Eclipse do? The NA Crossie will hit 160 MPH. (156 according to the specs.)

 

Let not open the 350Z thing, i ran one in my na few yrs back on nice mtn road , after my tune ,Susan was with me and turn out to be a nice little dog fight , the 350z guy was not happy, he ran off after we hit the four lane , but would not like him in a 1/4 mile , i have somthing else for that fight

 

I think the Eclipse is somewhere around 3500lbs. I had a Galant Ralliart with the same drive train that weighed in at 3800 if I remember correctly.

 

Franc, according to the Aug. 2007 Edition of Road & Track, they estimated their Mitsu GT "coupe" would do 148 mph.
They didn't include the final drive ratio in their specs on the car, but I'm assuming they were going by what red line would be in high gear. If so, that doesn't take into consideration wind resistance, but I'm only guessing how they came up with that number.
Since it's 0 to 60 times are so quick, (in a stop light grand prix) the XF would be toast.

 

No surprise there as the Xfire is geared for Autobahn driving not USA urban grand prix. It is not a dragster.

Wrong rear wheels, tall gears in the tranny, restricted clutch engagement, and wrong final drive.

350Z's are fun to play with. Usualy the driver's skill makes the difference.

Eclipses are fun but again it is most often the driver skill.

Audi TT's always seem to want to prove somethng against us. No idea why. They are faster on paper and for real. But then I have the same problems from Prius drivers.

Lucky for me I have enough mods to handle the Prius.

hey i loved my xfire is till am getting used to the eclipse when i walk out to pump some gas i automatically hit the unlock buton becasue somewhere in my brain i think i still have a locking gas cap.

unfortunately it doesnt seem as easy to mod the ecu as just goign to eurocharged something about sending it out to a guy in russia named hackish..... i think im ok for now lol

Once the crossfire hits 150 mph you will leave that eclipse in the dust.

 

oh gosh...... well i like both cars just because i own a eclipse gt now doesnt mean i dont miss my xfire. if they ever make something as vesatile and unique again id definetly consider getting it.

honestly i think its a pretty close match up especially if u had the sl500 air box

They will never make another car as unique as the crossfire again. They won't take risks anymore and all the cars will continue to look the same. A unique look with German engineering and an American shell will never happen again. Maybe in 15 years at the earliest.

I thought Muscle recorded a 14.38 1/4 at a track in a box stock 6 speed......that would probably have been a sub-6 sec 0-60. My recollection was he posted the time slip.

 

i wonder how much elevation comes into play here?
