Default Right Turn Signal Stays On

Hi Folks,

Ran into a weird issue starting yesterday. I went to lunch and parked my car in a pay-garage. When I came back, my right turn signal was blinking. I also saw the tow away alarm button light was on. I got in and drove the car the rest of the day and did not see the issue again. When I came out to my car this morning, I saw the turn signal light on (not blinking). I drove it to work this morning and as I was leaving the car, the light was on again. It goes out when I turn the ignition on, but comes back on a few seconds after I turn it off. I've tried disabling the tow away alarm, but it's not resolving the issue. I'm kinda stumped at where to start. I tried searching, but didn't find anything related to my problem. Any ideas?

Was the car locked when the tow away alarm was blinking?
If so that's normal, it means the alarm system is set.
Do you have water in the trunk area around the security/pump module?

Thanks, 180 for the reply.

The car was locked, but the light on the switch was on solid, not blinking. I'll have to check the security/pump module tonight when I get home - slave to the grind today. Will I have to peel back the carpet, or would that be moist as well?

Hi I don't know if this will help but when I installed my new Motomaster battery my alarm system acted up the turn signals would flash off and on for a few minutes then just stay on.It was only after I re synce my key fob to the car that it returned to normal.
Do you have primary electrical issues ?
Cheers

Okay, here's an update. I got home and disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes. During that time, I got into the security/pump module area, and it's dry as a bone. The weatherstripping around the gas cap area looks in great condition. I'd reconnected the battery and all seems to be okay again. Hopefully this will resolve the problem.

I'll try the key fob re-sync if it happens again, Mongoose.

Thanks,
Scott
