oh..and FWIW. that BBC presenter reviews some of the best cars in the world.....he has also reviewed the TT and the 350Z. He slammed both of them as well, but not NEARLY as bad as he slammed the Crossfire. I think the Crossfire review was by far the most negative car review i've seen on Top Gear.....it's a great show. He slammed the TT for it's price and "over stylishness"....and he slammed the Z for being cheap feeling and it's ride comfort. the Crossfire was slammed on Fifth Gear as well....another UK TV show...

 

BlackZ made some points there but Saskin says " Intercooler, etc. " and because you're so perfect you think you know it all. Saskin made a typo but you're so illeterate not to understand what " etc. " means.:lol:

XF engine can have a turbo / supercharger and of course, an intercooler - check our upgrades with Startech, Reentech and Kleemann. Now who's stupid and not doing their homework first before telling the whole world you're very right.

I'm just sick and tired of these "cancerous *********" ( of course the Z and TT ) coming over here thinking as if they're the ultimate car out there. Maybe it does itch that it bothers them alot. :lol:

 

not at all man. you can give me 5 Crossfires for 1 TT and i still would keep the TT. I don't even like the Xfire...no offense of course, just my opinion.

Yo Bro... it's not about "whatever" makes me happy. I hate that word... whenever people are without something to say... the first thing you'll hear from them is "whatever". Anyway, I was just stating facts. You like your cars, we like ours... that's understandable. However pull into a gas station together and the XF gets the most attention. When is the last time you got a thumbs up driving down the freeway, or people slowing down as they go by to look or just talking your ear off when you stop for gas??? In one of the posts above someone said, "just last week". Just last week??? It happens to us "all" the time and that ain't no bull. Take your TT or Z through the streets in LA where the money is. Those people are very car conscious and are used to all types of expensive and exotic cars... the XF is the one turning heads everywhere it goes...

Things must be pretty slow over on the TT and Z sandbox this week, huh???

 

I will admit that I am a TT owner, and I read the other thread w/ ammusement but had nothing useful to add until now...I am suprized that you AZ are commenting on the XFs transmission, but ignoring saskins claim that "You would never think that these stock transmissions are able to handle up to 1500 horsepower." maybe I am misunderstood him, but unless I missed an automotive miracle there arent any automobile trannys that can handle that much power in production.

Even MBs exercise in excess - the SL-56 had to be detuned because the transmission could not handle the 830+hp (1000+ torque) that the engine is capable of.

I understand entusiasim (sp) but sometimes you all should call each other out and raise BS flag, when necessary.

 

I don't understand your comment. My very first sentance specificaly acknowledged that "very good points about the mechanics of engines and transmissions" were made. Am I wrong to assume that people would take that to imply I did not agree with 1500 HP claim and there would be nothing to gain by "calling someone out"???

For the record... there is nothing wrong in owning a TT, Z, RX8 or any other car. Diffrent stokes as the saying goes. What does **** a lot of people on this "Crossfire" forum off is the recent childish invasion from folks that are coming here for no other purpose than to stir things up.

I've asked before... have any XF owners invaded the other sites acting like our recent visitors have been doing here this week?

 

never heard someone refer to a turbo or supercharger as a intercooler ect. but guess that could just be me. infact you could technically have either without an intercooler. either way, for a self stated racer I wouldnt expect such a comment. but you could be right.

either way, I may have taken the intercooler comment a bit out of context due to its combination with the 12k redline that he's adding. which you cleverly ignored addresing.

apples and oranges, FYI believe it or not, I think the crossfire is a good looking car. Ill agree it looks like a dog taking a poop, and the Z looks like a frog doing the same. we all have our little quirks. but Ive also owned a C320, not the same car, but the same engine. and that thing had zero power.

tell me the flaws of the Z and Ill admit to most if not all of them. the interior is all plastic, I dont care, but it doesnt change the fact that its true. the suspension bounces, I live with it, but still true. most of their tires feather. it could lose 200lbs. the paint looks like crap. I can own up to the problems the my car has and I love it just the same.

all I like is to hear others say the same; and when I hear someone say their car, *mag tested* to do about 15sec quartermiles pulled on 2 seperate *mag tested* 14.2sec cars, well, I have a habit of getting a bit curious. magazines arent gospel, but they arent absolute BS either. and about a second difference is more than a drivers race between even remotely similair drivers. if you disagree with me, then I would have to say your in denial.

 

The TTToast post is what started it all, now I don't really care but as far as car forums go you guys are the new kids on the block. If this site keeps up post like that you will find a whole gang of other car forums on here. LOL if you think the TT and Z are bad, wait till you get some of the punks from srtforums, 20vturbo, Honda and WRX sites.

i wholly agree with the other Z owners and TT owners....some of you are just talking full crap. a word of advice, if you don't know much about cars, don't pretend you do....because it shows. LOL

 

you are pretty touchy, my owning a TT had nothing to do w/ my post - it was simply full disclosure -not doing so would make me a troll. not that I did not say anything negative about your car, take a deep breath...

My comment about calling someone out is understandable. You have a number of people w/ different levels of car knowledge - when a self-proclaimed expert says the tranny can handle 1500 hp and no one corrects that. It may be repeated by your fellow Xfire owners...it usually doesnt reflect well on the community....

 

I used to like the TT until I realized it is on the beetle chassis, just a more squashed look. TT is getting very dated on its outside, inside is still nice.

Xfire is on the SLK chassis and that is just fine with me. I love SLKs.

I used to like the 350Z till they became as common as flies. they are saturated like Trans-ams were in the 90's. Z's look decent and agressive but Crossfire completely kicks on looks, freshness and its a Benz besides. Speed? Crossfire is plenty fast but there is more to a car than how fast it can carry you.

Also I love hearing racing stories. I thought I would have some by now but ive yet to see someone who decides to 'hit it' while I am crusing by slightly faster to see if they take the bait. Yesterday I did that and a mustang didn't even try. Probably afraid of tickets, like I should be, right? *smile*. Today I flowed like 10 over speed limit and a cop popped up behind me and I almost freeked out thinking he had me and so I moved over in front of a car in the right lane and he pulled beside me for about 30 seconds then blew past and took an exit. I hate when they come out of nowhere. This is all on the same road I hit almost 140 on two months ago. Turns out to be too cop scary to actually relax and hit top speed though its straight enough.

It would be cool if there were ten miles or so of a road to play on without cops or traffic.

 

I went to a local dealership and got to test drive a Crossfire. The salesperson gave me the keys along with a hammer?! I asked him what the hammer was for. He replied it was so I can get it into gear.

When I finally got the 6 speed into first gear after smacking the **** to death, it definately wasn't worth the effort. The acceleration wasn't even there!!

I felt good again once I jumped into my Toyota Prius. Now I could actually say I was going somewhere.

Since this thread is way off topic anyway I'll add that I think the interior of the Z is far better than the Crossfire. The Crossfire's exterior with something more like the Z's interior would have been a perfect match.

 

You know whats funny? I hate the interior of the Z, and like the interior of the Crossfire better.
