Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
So what you are saying is the four P0300 codes could be caused by one or more of the four faults listed below the P0300 codes.
Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
yes
According to Autozone.
All 4 codes P0300/P0301/P0302/P0303 have the same probable cause
Explanation on the ticket is :
The powertain control module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected a misfire consition.
Probable cause
1/ Ignition system fault-spark plug(s), ignition wires, coils
2/Vaccum leak
3/injector fault
4/High or Low level fuel pressure
Please help. Thanks
Max

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
Crankshaft sensor is made by WELSS SU 4740 - Autozone.. heard bad things about them.. Was your original sensor bad or changed out chasing the problem? If not I'd be real tempted (if you kept it) to take 15 minutes and try it again in the car.

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
Yes, I can try but to put the Crankshaft sensor back was a real pain. Horrible!
On 10/20/2012 I posted these two codes P0171
P0174
Which says Fuel pressure issue and MAF issue.
The engine light was off for a few days ( by itself) and is back this afternoon, after driving 25 miles...
Engine was knocking, loss of power. Rough transmission

Oh.. this is "assuming" you didn't have a CPS failure code.. CEL
And just found this in another CPS thread.. might take a look in the area.. couldn't hurt anything..
thanks to all!!!! got around to replacing the sensor again today. got my bosch sensor took off the sheild that was suggested and did the job in under 15 minutes. found that i had knocked a vacuum hose loose last time. reconnected it. started up and the air is working now too. ( could it have been the vacuum hose? anyway all is well now

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
I would check this thread and order one of these ( I did ) to save trips to Autozone :

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
You could probably find a small repair shop close by that has a fuel pressure gauge .. They could hook up on the schrader valve and let you know within two minutes if you've got a problem. Wouldn't think more than 10-15 bucks for that quickie.. Might search the forum or check service manual for PSI required.
Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
I will take the fuel pressure tomorrow.
My friend has the tool.
Mechanic wanted $75!!!!
Can you pinpoint where and how to take the fuel pressure. It will be wonderful.
If needed my email max@houstonhomeproperties.com
Thanks again ...A LOT

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
Per the manual.. some useful information..
WARNING: THE FUEL SYSTEM IS UNDER A CONSTANT PRESSURE
(EVEN WITH THE ENGINE OFF). BEFORE TESTING OR SERVICING
ANY FUEL SYSTEM HOSE, FITTING OR LINE, THE FUEL SYSTEM
PRESSURE MUST BE RELEASED.
With the ignition off.
Install a fuel pressure test gauge to the fuel rail.
Start the engine and observe the fuel pressure reading.
Note: Fuel pressure specification is 3.7 to 4.2 bar (54 to 61 psi).
Choose a conclusion that best matches your fuel pressure reading.

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
Hi,
Did test the fuel pressure yesterday.
According to my friend. No fuel pressure at all. Is that possible?
I have the fuel pump but not the fuel filter ( was replaced 4 months ago) ( Mann Brand)
What Do you think?
Thankssss,
Max

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
When you first turn the key over to "run" position (not start) do you hear the pump spinning up? It runs about a second or two to build up pressure.

Re: Camshaft sensor, Crankshaft sensor and MAF later... still problems
Low pressure and volume gives fuel starvation issues, not allowing a rich enough mixture to start a cold engine and too lean if and when the engine runs. I had the fuel pump fail on me one time and I had the same problems due to 16psi pump pressure.
