@#$%*&!! Supid Deer...
@#$%*&!! Supid Deer...
@#$%*&!! Supid Deer jumped out of the brush to commit suicide by Crossfire yesterday evening.
I will say that full on panic braking in a XF is very good. Not good enough, but very good.
The car is drivable, but needs a fender, bumper, headlight, foglight and maybe a hood.
1) Does anybody know the state (availability etc...) of new factory/Chrysler parts to fix the beat right front corner of my car?
2) Is the quality of the current factory items good or am I better off trying to get good used original items for the sheetmetal parts if I want it all to fit correctly?

Re: @#$%*&!! Supid Deer...
I believe the same. I used to have a link to an SRT front bumper cover through a junkyard service that was in perfect condition but it was still 6-700 bucks... Not sure on the NA cover.

Re: @#$%*&!! Supid Deer...
Right at 2,500 in parts that I listed (guestimating bumper cover).. that's before any labor and paint now throw in a grill and fog lights..maybe lower grills..
You'd be pushing 4 grand and that's "if" there were no structural (braces etc) that had to be fixed.. so yeah smack that nose enough to buckle the hood and your probably at six grand in total repairs real fast.. almost as fast as the adjuster can write "total loss"...

Re: @#$%*&!! Supid Deer...
sorry to hear about your troubles... I think I remember you saying the car has some high miles so you may be looking at the insurance company just chalking it up as a loss... if not, I do in fact have a bumper (as MrMiata stated), and will beat the current ebay prices (aside from the $80 cracked bumper).. shipping would be from 01469, not sure where you live or how much it would cost to get it to you
Re: @#$%*&!! Supid Deer...
If you guys work a deal on the bumper cover.. Greyhouind your most feasible shipping .. played that game when I bought my rear cover.
And just as a reference from my experience.. plan on somewhere around 60-90 bucks shipping..

Re: @#$%*&!! Stupid Deer...(bodyshop quote)
$4180 to fix it at a decent body shop.
For lack of any other ideas, I called the guy that used to do the service on my old 911SC years ago (and local Ferarri guru) and asked where he would go if it was his car.
I called the Chrysler dealer and fender/headlight/foglight/windshield are currently available new but not cheap.
I almost got around the b@st@rd but I hit him in the @ss with the right corner. I now have a deer-butt impression in the front of, and wrinkle in the side of, the fender.
Quote includes:
Used fender, used foglight, used headlight (I am insisting on new, only $40 more than used), fix the small tear in bumper near headlight and re-use, fix few small dents in hood and re-use, refinish scratches in upper windshield trim and re-use & replace windshield with new aftermarket item.
I have fairly deep hoof scratches/gouges in the windshield, but it did not break. I never thought about that possibiliity before! Chrysler windshield is $1050(!!!), aftermarket is $350.
