Default On the fence

I'm seriously thinking of buying a Crossfire coupe for a retirement present for myself. I've always loved the looks of this car. I will need to use it in the Vermont winter!!!! I've read some positive reviews about this car in the snow. And some ok reviews about reliability. Any thoughts you folks have on these issues, or other issues would be helpful.
Also, I see a whole lot of these cars for sale. This worries me a bit.
Thanx

I bought my 2005 N/A (auto) around this time last year and i was impress by its ability in the snow, and i live in ICELAND!
I put hard core Toyo winter tires on my wheels and didn't have a single problem, where my BMW 325i was stuck in the snow on every other corner.

With the right kind of tire you'll get around OK.....a couple of years ago I came home from work one night & got through about a mile of 6-8 inch deep fresh snow.

I bought my 07 new in Dec. 2007.....now has 83,000 miles.....only thing I've paid for that wasn't routine maintenance has been 2 light bulbs.

I live in MA but for the same cost of winter tires and rims, I am going to buy a cheap beater car...

Chrysler : Crossfire LIMITED in Chrysler | eBay Motors

Road trip! LOL.. had to throw this in somewhere.. few miles on her.. but no reserve on auction..

Oh..and if I had to pay 800 bucks or so and then 250 or so for a relay control module failure and then a crank position sensor I'd be looking to sell too.. LOL. This forum helps very much in keeping stealership prices out of our pockets!

Crossfires should not be used as a winter car. They should be preserved. How would you feel if someone plowed into your Crossfire on an icey/snow covered road. Salt also eats up the metal. I could go on,, but I like my Crossfire too much to use it in the winter. Get a front wheel drive car with all season tires and leave the Crossfire clean and garaged when it snows.

I like to drive it too much, so my solution is one driver + one garage queen....

Thinking my Daily Roadster (in the pic below) would do well with an SRT garage queen next to it!

If you are serious about winter driving, get good snows and put 100 lbs of bag sand in the trunk. I have two winter garage queens but alternate driving them all summer. Road salt ate my 74 TR6 in upstate NY and I won't have that happen to another beloved sports car.

That's because these cars are severely impractical. I came from to hatches and bought this on impulse as my dd. it's a great little car, very fun to drive, and so far worry free. But I do missing having an actual trunk

Yeah that was the final bid anyways.. saw the mileage and price and DAMN! was my thoughts too. Not like it had excessive body blemishes and the price definitely left room to polish it out if you wanted to.

I'd be very interested in your comments on 103k with th CF. Parts availability,...reliability,...still fun?
