I had a very similar experience so I feel your pain. The main lesson that I learned from my experience was that if it ever happened again I would get towed to the nearest Chrysler dealer. The local Service Manager is in a much better position to get you rolling again then is a tire place. He can also hook you up with a rental car. Going through Chrysler will also better position you for getting Chrysler to pay for the deal when it is done.

The local Service Manager has a vested interest in your happiness. He also wants to do the right thing for you. If you had got him face to face you might have had a better result. He has access to parts including tires that people outside the system can not get.

Thanks for the sympathy - sorry to hear you had a similar experience - there is comfort in numbers though :-) Actually, the local Chrysler dealership was also trying to get me a wheel. They were calling around to other Chrysler dealers to see if they could track one down. The local tire shop was using their resources to see if any tire shops happened to have a Chrysler wheel. In terms of the rental car, Chrysler customer service said that a rental car would not be reimbursed because my car was not un-drivable due to a "Warranty Item". The local Chrysler dealer said they best they could do was give me the number of the local Enterprise rental for me to get a rental car. What was most frustrating was that the Chrysler dealer was right across the street from the tire shop I was at (the dealer uses this tire shop for their tire needs and to order tires - hence the reason I had it towed there) and every day I could see new Crossfires with perfect wheels sitting right across the street from my poor car :-(

Everyone can feel your pain. And I think you hit the nail on the head when any of has had a problem with our car that takes so long to get fixed. It seems as though it would be so simple to take something off a car that is just sitting there and put it on our car as an emergency measure. Just so frustrating .....

Glad your problem is fixed~

My experience was just as agravating as yours but had a much better ending. When I got home I gathered up all of my bills and wrote a good letter detailing my tale of woe that I hand delivered to my local Service Manager. The lack of service parts is not your problem it is Chrysler's problem. Anyway my local guy got the Regional Service Manager involved. In the end they bought my tire, paid for the rental and a tow. They didn't have to but they did. This is why my local dealer will probably sell me a 300 C shortly after the first of the year.

Good point U_Al a good dealer will go the extra mile to keep a customer happy against future sales. I am also interested in a 300C Hemi and I ensure that my dealer is aware of this. My only problem is - I don't know which car to trade in - my Crossfire (which the 300C will simply eat up) or my staid Volvo which I dearly love.
