I've been wanting to top mine out just to say I have, but haven't found a road yet.

I was about to say, "don't drop the soap" but then I remembered how many points are on my license

Glad to hear it worked out well, I am surprised we have not gotten popped more at the Dragon, I have only been pulled over once, knock on wood. Next time, do it on a fast bike, then you don't have to stop LOL

I've been trying to talk the base commander here to go for it but no luck. Maybe when I go to Guam I can talk them in to it.

The officer told my lawyer that he almost passed me up because he was busy phoning in the pursuit and then saw I had pulled over less than 100 yards away from where he turned around. He said that if I had put my foot back down he never would've caught me. Apparently his cruiser is limited at 125mph. (Crown Vic) BTW that was the first time I had ever been in a ford LOL

Got pulled for going over 50KPH here in Ontario Canada on a back road where the limit goes from 80 to 50 quickly but I was lucky the officer dropped it down, but he told me they could take my car and way more. Sure enough heres the law around here:

If you are charged for speeding at 50 km/h over the speed limit, police will suspend your licence and impound your vehicle at the roadside.
Penalties for street racing, stunt driving and driving 50 km/h or over the speed limit
Pre-conviction – Immediate 7-day licence suspension and 7-day vehicle impoundment
Upon conviction - $2,000 to $10,000 fine, 6 demerit points, up to 6 months jail, up to 2 years licence suspension for a first conviction
Second offence – Driver licence suspension up to 10 years within 10 years of first conviction
The following demerit point pen alties are assigned to a driver convicted of a speed-related offence. Remember, if you collect enough demerit points, you can lose your driver's licence.
3 points for exceeding the speed limit by 16 to 29 km/h
4 points for exceeding the speed limit by 30 to 49 km/h
6 points for exceeding the speed limit by 50 km/h or more

Consider yourself luckymy friend!

The last time I was up to Canada, I remember the speed limit being about 90 klicks/hr. Please tell me you have better speed limits now.

You must have been going over 20km/h over the limit of 80km/h to hit the 50km/h over the limit of 50km/h then huh...

Had a similiar experience a few years back. At the time I had a '99 Eclipse GST that I had built the crap out of. Nearly 500hp in a 4-cyl is not to bad. Some friends of mine and I had been to the local Street Fights at Bristol Dragway and were back in town talking about our runs. It was about 4 0'clock in the morning, so I headed home, all hyped up from talking about racing. Shot through town and passed a cop running 150mph in a 45 zone. Immediatly when I passed, I had that "Oh sh*t" and just pulled to the side of the road. The cop pulled up, never turned his lights on and walked up and started checking out my car. He motioned for me out of the car and started asking me questions about it. The first thing he did ask though was, "Why did you pull over? I never would have caught you." My only response was "That thought had crossed my mind." Must have liked that because he just told me to watch myself because you never know when someone will pull out in front of you and told me to drive the speed limit going home. I followed that order, but mostly because he followed me the 6 miles home to see if I was going to speed.

How I didn't go to jail that night, I will never know.

because you met a car guy...we aren't all ******...just a few of us...lol.... We love cars too. Most Vics are limited to 125, some 140. Around here we have dodges and mustangs to watch out for...I have had fun with the youngsters around here, as long as they aren't really dangerous. The funny thing is, with some of them, is, they really don't know how lucky they were. One kid stated, how did you know I did it? I laughed and pointed to the blue mustang with white stripes and mustang across the windshield, and said why don't you just put you name on it...lol

In Alberta it's 110, so 120 is doable. Thats Kilometers. Montana still have "no speed limit" roads?..thought it was Montana. Silver Blue 6spd Coupe. Annnnd....Loving it! Might love it more in Montana?

that use to be true, not sure it is today, since the feds wants speed laws attached to funding....maybe our Montana bros can shed some light on that....

Yeah we have 90kph in places we also have 40kph etc on others, depends on what road you are on and where.
The legal max around here is 100kph but you can get away with 120kph or you will be left behind and be causing a backup in the flow. Just do not be obvious by erratic driving, using your cell phone etc.

There is talk about raising the max limit, but the cops want to nanny everyone as if we were all idiots, many are but that's another story.

I find the act of pulling over NOW, RIGHT NOW, to be very effective. It's one of my "rules on how to get out of a ticket in 5 minutes or less..."

I'll share other rules I observe at the Dragon - and maybe play the Go-Pro video of me getting caught doing 74 in a 55 - and talking my way out of it in 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Thanks for starting this thread. Next time I get the urge to open her up on an uncrowded freeway..... I'll remember why I shouldn't!
