Default Rear Cats deleted = awesome sound

Hey guys, so what started out as bad day turned out as a nice one. So here is what happened. I got my Ansa exhaust that I ordered but it is not the one I wanted. So this evening I go to the muffler shop to see what options I have. I end up having the rear Cats removed and putting in straight pipes in place. All I can say is wow. This is the sound I wanted to begin with. Its not super loud and gargling. Now the Crossfire has that "Euro sound" I was wanting with the Ansa exhaust. I am so excited by the sound and simply love. I ended up keeping the Cats in case I want to put back to stock for some reason. The tech at the shop was wanting to keep them and saw the Mercedes logo on them.. Anyhow I just wanted to share this with y'all, thanks.

what are the chances of a sound clip and how much did they charge you for having the cats taken out? i am tired of the magnaflow sound and have been thinking of putting the stock back on for a while anyways

Thank you, I got charged $40.00. I believe it was well worth it. I'll try to record sound tomorrow and post it.

Well, wife and I were going to the store to get some groceries. Once we were parking she realized the "noise" was coming from us! She thought we were followed by a motorcycle or truck. She doesn't like it much but she"ll get used to it, I hope. It's not awfully loud, must not used to it. I told her that I was going to the muffler shop but she didn't really know what for.

So you kept the stock muffler on? A sound clip would be sweet

Yes, stock muffler is on. Removed the rear Cats and the sound is amazing. I wouldn't change a thing. I think more people would do this if they knew how good it sounded. I will try to post sound/video tomorrow. Thanks

yeah because he probably wanted to resell them for big money some members on here got ripped off like that at muffler shops, most shops wont go out of there way to return your stock parts to you unless you ask...

Oh, I made sure to tell him I'm keeping my Cats. It sucks that people get ripped off like that. I ve heard that many times about shops keeping people's parts. The best thing is talk to the tech about everything that is going to be done and make sure it is understood. I'm sure these Cats are high dollar as well.

Nope, the O2 sensors are located fore and aft of the first set of cats. Like stated before, the rear cats are soley there for stricter emissions, they have no sensors alocated to them.

I can attest to the fact the this is probably the best exhaust mod going. It sounds stock when normal driving but when you get on it, honey hush!
(you older guys will know what movie that phrase is from)

Yeah, it's nice sounding. I tried to take video with audio but the quality is so bad I wouldn't want to post as everyone will think it's the car and not the audio quality. I'll try something else soon. Thanks
