Default emergency brake

anyone have any ideas how to stop my emergency braker from making noise when it's set? it "creaks" when it's set...like if i'm driving and need to get out for a minute and can't leave it in gear (manual) so...i put on the brake and get in and out...make lots of noise? I was told by the dealer last time i was in that it was ok and didn't need to be replaced? can i put disc brake quiet on it? is it something easy to do or no? i know...nothing is easy...

Maybe the car is just creeping forward a tiny bit, if the brake is not set hard enough. I've had that with every car I've owned. Just have to give that handle a good tug!

Is the car moving when it squeeks? If not, dont worry about it. Just make sure the hand brake is applied firmly. If the handle is way high, it may need some adjustment

If this is your biggest or only problem with a German car, you're in good shape.

Maybe some squeaks that come when the e-brake is applied happens because the handbrake that applies the cable tension is attached to the car body and the other end of the cable is attached to the wheel. As you get out the distance between the two points increases due to the car rising and adding a little more tension to the cable, not much but enough.

The heavier you are the more squeak you cause. If you are really heavy it sounds different, more like a sigh of relief.
