THanks. Drove Nick's SLK55 and Krazy's SLK32 over the weekend....

I know it's time to move up to something in the mid 300 HP area, and it will happen but not sure it'll happen by October.

In some ways, I like Hellbender more than the Dragon now.

You have the bug... Why settle for mid-300's? I have to agree on Hellbender vs Dragon.

I have to agree with itsky...there is a reason that there are recommended oils and gasoline...these are not just every day, run-of-the-mill cars...I won't use anything that's not approved. I even passed on a cheaper octane bootster because it had MMT...

I live in Maryland so it does get cold here in the winter but nothing like upstate NY.

Please advice.

Thanks all!

Hey, if you are in Maryland, why aren't you part of our Crossfires of Maryland Car Club. Recently formed, but having our first Charity Car Show in Mount Airy Maryland at the Linganore Winery. Please check out our Crossfires of Maryland Thread. You can also access our car show flyer on the winery events page for August. The show is August 11th. Are you intersted? Love to see you and meet up with another owner / enthusiast. We have about 10 members right now and are looking to grow. Feel free to pm me if you like. Happy to talk off line.

BTW ..... my car only sees Mobil 1 0W40.............I buy in bulk when it goes on sale and save a ton of money.

Diesel oil? I guess is that it does not have the best detergents for the petrol residue.

If you follow the FFS oil change interval, is it ok to not add that last 1/2 quart?

Why would you want to start 1\2 quart low? I would at the least check the oil level before adding that last 1\2 quart - add if needed.

Speaking of adding oil...is that something that is OK to do? I thought I read that one should NOT top off...

I am on your Facebook page:-) Will definitely try to meet up with you guys the next time. I was at the Winery a couple of months ago. Its a beautiful drive and will take my X-fire down there the next time.

Do you know of a good X-fire mechanic in MD? My good friend works on mine but he is not a full time mechanic and does it as a hobby so is not always available. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Paul

Glad you are on a facebook page. We just had another planning meeting yesterday over at Anne's Dari Creme. Final prep for the August 11 car show. Hope you can make the show. All COM members should be there. Hoping for about 50 plus cars. We'll have food, music, raffle and of course wine and good people. A free wine tasting comes with each registration.

As far as mechanics, I do as much as I can on my own and then I've been taking my XFire to DARCARs in Rockville. They are pretty good there but if I have my way, I'll stay away from most dealers. I'm almost never completed comfortable or happy with them (I only have 23K on my 2004 right now) COM members over near Baltimore say they have a really good Certified Mechanic at one of the Dealers and if you are a COM member you get discounts. It' a lot closer for you than me so you may want to check him out. I'll get his name and dealer info and post it later.

Try and register this week if you think you can make the show. Hope to meet you there.

Paul
