Tyres, Silencers, Air Filters ... in the UK
Tyres, Silencers, Air Filters ... in the UK
Hi Gents,
Just acquired a Crossfire here in the UK, Black, Black interior, Black dash and door panels, Black carpets, dark custom glass, 46k miles and it's sweet...
Just got some K & N air filters, oil service iminent soon too...
Couple of questions plz ???
Without destroying the silver plastic engine cover..... how is it removed & I presume the filters live under this panel.
Information here in the UK is sparse at best & I don't want to pay £70 an hour to have a trainee idiot work on my car at the Mercedes dealership if I can do the job myself...
Is there any site or down loadable service or build dats sheets available for these fab machines ???
I've found lots of excellent bits on e-bay to hide and improve the awful centre console too incase any one's interested.
Is any one aware of the possibility of removing the rear silencer and modifying the internals for a better noise than the standart item ?
Drive safely you guys.
Regards
Grant B

Hi
Grab the middle of the housing ( Left and Right hand side in the middle )and lift straight up. Then you will see the fittings that you use to push it back in position again
i broke the lefthand corner by not doing this.

I am interested in these links about center console improvments/changes. Let me know! also, is silencer the U.K. version of exhaust?

Hello Andrews Badges.
There are two things you can do with the cruddy centre console..........
1 got to Halfords and buy some Stone proof matt black body trim spray, a few coats will make the console parts watch strap proof....
All these trim parts will come off and can be sprayed on their own off the vehicle, and look soooooo much better.
My cockpit is all black - dash, seats, floor, door trims, so this works fine for under £10....
the other option, look on Chrysler Crossfire on ebay, and you will find a beautiful set of self adhesive mouldings that stick onto the plastic, in manby colours and effects . . grey marble to deap wood under varnish, black marble etc, the set for all the xfire console and dash is approx £85..... looks beautiful, and will remmove all the rattle from these bits too.
My silencer is a UK version.
