I am looking at buying a 2007 coupe...l Need advice!

Honestly, parts can be quite expensive. I don't particularly care for salvage titled cars because if there's an insurance loss you won't get what the car cost you. If I was looking to spend $8000 I'd buy a six cylinder Mustang convertible. It's cheap to own, doesn't use premium fuel and parts are cheap.

Good point about premuim fuel. I think both of the Japanese cars would like Premium as well but likely don't call for it. (really, all of them have knock sensors and should be able to compensate for different fuel grades anyway). The Crossfire takes 8 quarts of synthetic oil for an oil change and has 12 ...yes TWELVE platinum spark plugs and 2 air filters...oh and the fuel filter has a built-in fuel pressure regulator (so expect to pay around $50 for the filter). Maintenance aside, parts aren't all that bad and assuming the car hasn't been abused, you shouldn't need frequent repairs anyway. I have an '05 limited with 36k and an A/T. I average 22.5 MPG mixed and I drive gently. I'd imagine a leadfoot could expect mid-teens. I recently took a 300 mile round trip with the cruise set to 72MPH and I returned 26MPG.

Is this your DD or a secondary car you get to use for fun driving when the mood strikes you?
I would get the Toyota MR2 with high mileage and a low price. That said, I am always one for a bargain, if the deal on the salvage title 350Z is great (and since your buddy who is a tech already checked it out) I would grab that one.
My answer will definitely vary based on whether or not this is your DD.
