Crossfire on TV last night
Re: Crossfire on TV last night
In my opinion... the thing that hurts our cars the most is the Chrysler emblem. And I am nolt saying Chrysler is bad. I am just saying that the quality of our car is that of an exotic. You could put a Jag, astin Marton or any exotic logo on the bumper and people would believe it. I took my car out for the first time in 2 months this morning and LOVE THE WAY IT DRIVES more today then I did 7 years ago when I bought it new. I forgot what it feels like to be in control of the road.

Exotic cars are like supermodels, they look gorgeous and you *think* you want one, then you realize you can't afford the maintenance and she never wants to mess up her hair. She only eats certain foods, won't socialize with the poverty class and ends up only being a 'decent' lay. And she farts.
Our cars definitely aren't exotics. Thank God.

There are many cars out there with a low pedigree that have awesome lines and above-average build quality. Ours is one of them, but it doesn't put it in supercar territory. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

You know you're right. If you're completely blind you can actually see how one would confuse a Crossfire with a Bentley

On the other hand you have your mercedes. Your mercedes is clearly a mercedes. You can see your car a quarter mile away and know it was a mercedes. If you put a Toyota badge on your car the average joe that knows nothing about cars would know your car is a mercedes. It has all the typical Mercedes lines on the body of the car.
So it all goes back to the fact that crossfires are unique with a unique style that could resemble an exotic car such as a Bentley. Everyone else is driving a jellybean car and they all look the same. Heck, even with a chrysler logo on my car I still have people asking "what kind of car is that?".
Thanks for the pictures and thanks for proving my point. I see about 5 similarities bewteen the 2 cars all the way down to the style of the rims.

Both have headlights, 2 doors, tail lights, a back bumper, a front bumper and an engine...
The Bentley is nearly 3 feet longer than the Crossfire and in reality the Crossfire looks are much closer to the looks of a Sebring.
You my friend are reaching quite far to compare these two cars.

An "exotic car" is one that is in the upper 10% of speed, refinement, technology, cost, and exclusivity. And for the record, there is an "AND" between those requirements, not an "OR". It should be a car that has global appeal and lust factor. This quickly disqualifies the Crossfire from being exotic, regardless of your delusion.
This thread makes my head hurt. And the funny part is, it's not the OP's fault.

I am not going to waste my time explaining the similarity of the lines between a crossfire and a Bentley. If you can't see it then you are blind. The fact is you gave up your crossfire for a common mercedes jelly bean car... so in order to rationalize your decision you have to put down crossfires,

I wonder how you see where you're going walking around like this all day...

Re: Crossfire on TV last night
I was standing out in the driveway with the Chevy the other day (in the garage was the 2 XFs and my mother-in-laws T-Bird), & I hear this tiny voice from the street (which is about 100 feet from the garage ), say, " 2 Bentleys & Firebird!".....then he repeated it again, "2 Bentleys & a Firebird!". I turned around & it was this 7 or 8 year old kid on some scooter looking thing.....I told him they weren't Bentleys they were XFs & that's a T-Bird not a Firebird. His Parents were a couple of hundred feet behind him on foot. When they caught up to him he told them .....look....."2 Bentleys and a Firebird!". I got a kick out of it.
