What Battery Do You Have & When Did you Change It?
What Battery Do You Have & When Did you Change It?
I have just ordered a Bosch Battery S5 Battery 100 5 Year Guarantee from EuroCarParts.co.uk -- Priced up at £99.00 but I used a discount code and got this for £84.00 with Free P+P.
Reading the details is appears to be a very good upgrade. I currently have the original one still in the car and this is from 2004 so nearly 8 years old and after reading the views on this forum - They could die at any point.
Can I have your thoughts and what Batteries you have installed in your pride & Joy...
Happy Driving

Re: What Battery Do You Have & When Did you Change It?
My original battery lasted about 3 years in the South Texas heat. One day I go to start the car and all the signs happen. Spoiler pops up, lights start blinking.... etc. Without knowing anything about the typical symptoms I automatically knew the battery was dead. The car was still under warranty so I had Chrysler tow it to the dealer. The dealer starts jerking me around.... says the car is ready to be picked up. Get to the dealer and see there is no battery in the car. They tell me it has to be special ordered... I say B.S. I told them I wanted a free take home car and all of a sudden a "new" battery appears out of nowhere. Not one year later while at another dealership (fixing something else on the car) they tell me the battery is going dead and replace with a brand new one for free. I assumed the last dealership threw a used battery in my car just to get me on my way.
So far the new factory battery is going strong (about 3 years now). I keep it on a battery tender in my garage when not in use. I should probably replace it just in case.
What really sucks is the crappy dealership I went to for years never told me I got free rentals paid for by Chrysler during the 3 year/ 36,000 mile warranty. They used to tell me "we don't give free rentals to anybody". I used to get rides to and from the dealership when I could have had a free rental. This was a bonus that Chrysler gave for buying a Crossfire at the time. It just shows you how out of touch Chrysler dealerships were with our cars... even when they were brand new! Now that the car has been out of production, forget about it!

Replaced the OEM Varta in the '05 I just got. It was in the car from '04 so although it was working fine I figured it had done the job for long enough, why wait for trouble, be proactive.
Replaced it with a Canadian Tire Eliminator, which is a direct replacement with no packing required.

Still have the original battery in my 04 coupe. Make sure the fluid is topped up with distilled water, and leave the battery tender on it over the winter for storage, and when not driving it. Batteries should last 10 years, so long as you keep the fluid level topped up and keeping it fully charged.

Mine is a 2004
Battery Replacement - Interstate MTP-91 on February 25, 2009
Original battery still seemed fine but 5 years was good enough and I put in this new one to avoid the dreaded problems that can occur when the OEM battery fails.
I travel to far a few times a year to have problems that I can prevent

I have never seen them at all in our local flyer and I always look for them. I have not seen them in the store in Bolton ever.
