Default Good by crossfire

The crossfire is history. It was a fun little car, but very over rated. Chrysler is on the right track with this thing but it needs a lot. Cant say I am sorry to see it go. I wish all you Xfire guys the best of luck with your cars. The one constant about the car is it is a real head turner.

I am glad I got to own one and drive it, but in hind site I should have done a bit more homework, if I did I would doubt that I would have choose the Xfire.

I hope my new 2005 C-6 vette is not as big a disappointment as the Xfire.

Have fun with those little Xfires , and watch out for the kids in the loud Honda's, they all want to race you

Outta here,,, Flathead

If you knew how to enjoy the car you would have loved it. But, too each his own and good luck w/ the Vette. I've had 2 and loved them. But, then I love my Crossfire... So again... Good Luck.

I hope it's worth the 50Gs their asking for it! 2004 vettes are 9-10 gs discount now.I know their worth that! For kicks and looks i really like the XFs anything better is twice the price!

WMichaels,,, You crack me up. If I knew how to enjoy the car!!! Give me a brake. I ran that car to the fringes of its capability, I know what it can do! I have had many, many performance cars over the years and the Xfire just does not cut it for me. To each his own I guess.

Have fun!~

I actually plan to wait a couple of years of the C6 being out so that I can get a late model C5 for cheap!

Your gonna love the vette, I would!

have fun,

If I have to change mine for performance....a Lotus Elise will do. Fast and a head turner....which I haven't seen one yet or will never be...did you?

Right now, there's still more adventures for my Crossfire..quite a sleeper. A vette is a known fast car where there's not a lot who challenges it. I won't dare it with my XFIREX but I can surely take others in a second.

Being a , I just have to ask ...

Do men view Corvettes the same way women do? I mean, when the s and I see a vette, we all immediately say "sorry about your little p****!" In short, the Corvette is the one sports car that moves a guy down a notch to us, rather than up.

Do guys really think they're that cool?

The only cars I would trade my Crossfire for are: SLK 500 or Viper.
As far as performance, where you going to use it, speeed limit is 70 in most states, and how often to you go from 0 to 60 at record times except at drag strips. Crossfire has more then enough for todays roads

Good luck with your vet, your going to need it!!!!!!!! 8)

Sorry to hear you have moved on. Good luck with the new car. Everyone has their own tastes in cars so don't moan at him for changing. It is his choice. Whilst we are dissapointed to see another Crossfire go, some other lucky customer will become its new owner and we hope they also find their way onto this forum. All the best.

Well thats the whole thing in a nutshell right there. I wont buy a car because ,as Tivobuddy Say's "Its cool" Its strictly a performance thing for me. Have had vettes before and actually have a 67 right now. If I want to be COOL I would get me a 37 ****** street rod or the like. Not sure if I understand the "moving down a notch" thing??

Like I said I am glad I got to own the Xfire and even got a decent buck for it. But unlike others here I am not so close minded to think it is the ultimate performance car. Not that the vette will be either. As far as the comment on the 70 MPH speed limit,,, well lets just say that poster must think we all need to go get us a yugo because what the heck you can only go 70.

flathead:

Cars are a completely personal thing. That is why there are so many to choose from.

I truly hope you enjoy your new car! New cars are just so much fun!!!!

Pesonally, I bought mine for looks, plain and simple. I still think it is the best looking car I have ever seen that is available for under $40K. But I am also very happy with the performance it delivers at that price point. Is it an Austin Martin Vanquish? No. But I own a Crossfire, and I will never own a Vanquish..... But then again, I have not yet checked my Mega Millios Jackpot ticket yet, so there still may be some hope!!!!!!

Enjoy your new Vette, and post some pics before you go to the new forums!!!!

I always make fun of Vettes here in Michigan... they are powerful!!! They can take most cars on the road with a 5.7l engine!!!! HUGE POWER!!!... EVERYONE HAS ONE!!!! EVERYONE!!!! You will see as many Vettes here in Genessee county (GM Country) as you will see a mustang.... they are everywhere... and guess what... when my buddy parks his brand new Vette next to my Xfire at the ice cream place... know which one girls go up to ... The Xfire... What kinda car is that?! .... Vette's to me are for SCCA people! if you wanta do extreme racing and what not and you like american products thats fine... i wont make fun of you.... but you could take the money your gonna sell the xfire for and spend on the vette.... just take the cash over to Renntech..... get it bored out... 404 hp now... same speed as a F1 spider... go whoop some Vettes *** and then have chicks all over the car ... If I didnt have to pay for my last year in Bach and then Master's degree... I would be doing this!!!! I know it for sure....

flathead,

Good luck I still have my 96 Supercharged Corvette (C4), it was either a C6 or the Crossfire. I now have the Corvette where I like it so I didn't want to then turn around and sell it, 522 horses with coilovers all the way around and dropped 2 inches. www.ndneyes.com/mo

Yes it will leave your eye teeth hanging mid air.

I think the comment about the "guy's moving down a notch" is perhaps more for the Ferrari crowd. Never the less, we bought our Crossfire for the same reason many above have stated, almost to the point of it's uncomfortable with the "head turns and stares". It is a great car to switch off too.

Yes my Corvette will do 0-60 in 4.2 but if I don't watch it, there 's a ticket on the other end. As someone stated the reality is normal street driving 2 seconds on legal roads is not a tremendous difference. I love the tremendous low end torque of the Corvette. But I also love the curb appeal and the driving fun of the Crossfire as well...

I'll probably see you in the Corvette forum as well... I'm usually helping on C4 side the good luck!

Mo

I like the old C5 and new C6, but the solid German feel is hard to replace with anything except a Porsche or M.Benz.

I love corvettes - they're awesome cars! Thanks for spending time with us, and enjoy your new ride. If you ever see me in my xfire, don't forget to race me - I might have a Rentech trick or two up my sleeves!

nice to hear that the c-fire seems to be holding it's value.

somedays, it seems like every guy around here gets handed a vette and a harley when he turns 60.

actually, now that i think about it...the toys are usually gifts from their insurance beneficiaries.

Hmmm...last time I checked, I'm all woman, and I LOVE Vettes (and last time I checked, nothing about the ex-boyfriend/vette owner was small! ops: )!

Vettes are just the epitome of the true American sportscar. Admittedly, don't love the new ones nearly as much as the old ones, but if I could afford one plus the insurance, I'd take it any day.

Doesn't mean I don't love my Crossfire just as much, tho...like others here, I bought her purely for looks and haven't been disappointed by the performance at all.

Whatever you're driving today, have fun!
