2005 Crossfire gas pedal isn't accelerating
2005 Crossfire gas pedal isn't accelerating
So i just got the car two weeks ago and this just happened today, I drive fast and when i mean that is i push it to the limit, i love how it sounds when i gun it lol. But i let my mom borrow the car yesterday and she is a slow driver so i think she may of done something. I am no mechanic and i hope this isn't a big problem. What can i do to fix it?
Re: 2005 Crossfire gas pedal isn't accelerating
This might work but your problem sounds a little unusual......
Theory is the ECU adaptively learns your driving style.
This procedure resets it to learn mode so you can teach it to be more aggressive.
Throttle Body Reset
1. Get in your car
2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position, the position just before the starter
turns over.
3. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position.
4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back
to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas
pedal.
5. Wait 2 mins. for a full alignment.
6. Drive the car as you always do.

Re: 2005 Crossfire gas pedal isn't accelerating
This problem sounds very familiar.
I was working when my family took ownership of the car for me while I was away.
I got home and my sister immediately told me I bought a crappy car. Angry and confused I asked her why.
She said it was sluggish and didn't go fast, slower than her old *** Saturn.
Come to find out her style of driving is keeping her hand on the shifter. With the Chrysler Autostick system she moved the shift lever when going over a bump into the Automanual mode and drove home in 1st...the whole way.
I don't know if I'm missing a method but as far as I know you need to pull over, move the shifter out of the automanual area and out of D to reset the system to regular automatic driving.

Sounds good lol because these cars are not slow, i just never knew the car actually knows the way you drive. That is pretty smart but my mom is a slow driver and yesterday i was gunning it and wasting my gas and i kept telling myself jeez this isnt right?
