Does anyone know how to remove the ashtray?

I believe something that I need fall behind it.

Push it lightly forward and you should be able to grasp it and gently pull it out until it seems fully extended. Now pull it out further (about an inch) and it is now fully extended. There is an inner shell which can be then lifted straight up with your thumb and fingers. The sliding ash tray holder remains in the dash. The front is a removable plate which hides a coin holder! Not sure how the sliding tray is completely removed without breaking it.
