Darn shame about the car, no injuries is certainly good news. Good luck in your search for a new ride. Seems like there are plenty on the market.

That car is only about a 2 hour 20 min drive from me if John wants it checked out. My wife and I drive down to San Fran Frequently. (She always is looking for a reason for us to get down there.)

Thats exactly what I was thinking. The only problem I have with the car is the front has a license plate bracket

I like your perspective under challenging conditions. I'm sure that Thanksgiving for you and your family will have much more significance this year!

Mr john,

So sorry to hear about your accident, these little cars are tanks! It saved me twice ( when I hit a deer and when a traffic light fell on my roof) I know you will be back in a xfire before you know it, glad both you and your wife are safe, have a great holiday and enjoy some much needed relaxation.

You guys ROCK!!! Thank you so much for your offers.

The replacement I'm looking into (Alabaster/Vanilla roadster) is proving to be a rare one... so I may need some "eyes and ears" away from home to inspect.

Again, I can't thank you all enough.

Roadsters and coupes use different spoilers. They have different part numbers, that cropped up a few weeks ago on here.
John, can you get any of the parts you put on the coupe back?

John pm me the particulars you are looking for. My local Mazda dealer has an Alabaster coupe on the lot, that has been there for awhile. The owners are friends of mine. It doesn't look well taken care of from the road, but would be glad to look closer if interested. Let me know what you really are wanting. Good luck buddy. Hope the turkey took the pain away.

John, that must of been a gut wrencher. So glad you and Kim are OK. At least you know what's on the top of your Christmas list...!!!

Speaking of Xmas list ... when I bought my Xfire before Xmas a few years ago, the family always would ask what I wanted for Xmas. So I gave them a list of accessories I wanted for my new Xfire. And what does my insanely rich Uncle Vinnie send me.... a 12 pack of cedar scented hanging xmas tree deodorizers. That is one funny *******, I tell you what!

Thank you for the offers!

A few things must first take place... For starters, I have to do battle with his insurance company. They haven't even contacted me yet (and likely won't) so it looks like I'll be filing with my company on Monday (A word of advice: don't wreck one day before a holiday!!!).

Then, I'll be out my deductible but at least I'll have my company to do the bidding. I have receipts of mods, more photos than they care to look at, and I'll also use the "average of all similar Crossfires" as a bargaining tool. Not to mention, we have to cover Kim's hospital visit and the two days of missed time from work (each).

Once the smoke clears on that, I will be buying my car back. I will begin a transfer of everything I can from the old car to the new one. As Dave mentioned, the SRT wing won't make the swap, but on the roadsters, I honestly prefer the motorized wing (gasp!), as it looks cleaner. The Crossfire roadster reminds me of a "baby-budget" SLS Roadster... long hood, short boot, a flip-spoiler that is invisible until deployed, and the two-tone interior. The coupe's motorized wing rides too high and leaves a hard edge after the back glass... when it's deployed, it looks like a duck tail. When it's tucked, the car brings back memories of Clarkson comments.

So the spoiler will soon be for sale. Christmas time's a-coming, you white coupes!!

The Startech steering wheel will be retained, and will be dyed to match the new ride. Since I'm likely doing the vanilla interior, I'll dye the wheel the slate color for easy maintenance.

The cedar interior from my old one was unharmed and will be up for sale. I will keep a few things (misc sensors) from the engine as a CYA stash in case anything breaks on the new one. Wheels were unharmed but I'm still trying to determine the direction I want to take the new roadster. For now, I'll keep them and you might see these up for sale soon. Still on the fence about that one. Tail lights, rear fascia, hatch... all available if needed.

Now for the replacement... After my old car has been purchased, parted out, and crushed... I will be looking to hop into an Alabaster/Vanilla roadster.

Transmission is still debatable, but I'm heavily leaning towards an automatic this time. In 2009 when I bought the manual, we didn't have paddle shifters and TCU mods. Plus, Kim will be able to drive the auto so that's a plus.

As for my "wish list" on the car... under 50K on the clock is desirable. I've found two different Alabaster/Vanilla roadsters with mid 20's and mid 30's for mileage, and they're $15K and $18K, respectively. No way I'm paying $18,000 for the '05.

If I can find the said combo with mileage below 50K miles and the interior is in GREAT shape, I could swing $16K but that's my max. Navigation is not necessary; I never once used it in my old one.

Wheels/tires aren't important either as I will be replacing those in short order.

I found one in Washington that seems perfect, but it's a haul to get it back here.

2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited, $15,500 - Cars.com

I would likely look into getting it transported as I don't want to drive a roadster over the Rocky Mountains in December.

But before I get too excited, I must first close the chapter on my old one.

That is a very pretty car John, looks like it worth the price. Good luck with everything and watch out for all the vultures.
