In Virginia if you need your windshield wipers you are required, by law, to have your lights on. In rain only a fool wouldn't. The really cool thing is that I know how to operate the light switch. For both ON and OFF.... I guess you can say I'm multi-talented.

Hi,

Out of habit, driving this tiny car, I turn my head lights on all the time. As for forgetting to turn them off, when I leave the car..I don't think so..Can't you hear the dinging sound it makes when you open the door? I sure can

I am with the group that is most happy with DCs assumption that anyone driving a real drivers car, should be capable to determine if lights are needed or not. :P
As far as I am concerned I think if we have DRLs on cars we're taking away one small protection for those on two wheels. Granted it will not save my bacon with those irresponsible folks who need to be yakking on their phones on every mile they drive, put on their make-up on the way to the office instead of at home and many other way too common idiocies one can witness at any given day on the roads these days. But it may just make it a little easier for an average good driver to notice the bikes presence and delay a lane change.

Sorry Dan, I think Wes hit the nail square on the head. I'm from the old school, the hell with being PC. If an idiot pulls into my lane without looking, then he is at the very least a moron.

Those are the times I wish I still had my first car, a 1970 GMC Jimmy. That thing was a tank. Go ahead... PULL into my lane... think I'm gonna swerve away from 'em... NOT! In fact, I'd have seriously considered swerving INTO them...

But then I became a paramedic, saw too much road carnage, grew up, mellowed out, bought a Crossfire, wished it had DRL but oh well no big deal it doesn't I bought it anyway...

LOL AZ yes moron is very polite in my opinion and I too sometimes miss my big bad Ram in those situations.....that was really hard to miss in the mirrors and very few dared to jump infront of it.
But with the Xfires excellent handling I usually just use the space the "moron" vacated to move around them....problem solved. I love it however when they then feel the need to honk their horn

Ok,

since I originated this thread...LOL

I Love lively banter!

The reason I originated it was I thought the Xfire had them, as it was in just about every piece of literature I had said DRL. So I thought I might have a problem and was seeking advice if anyone had seen this before. HEH Since they didn't come on when the car was on.

I personally don't care whether they are part of the car or not, I can after 34 years of driving locate a light switch when needed... LOL Greay cars are a little tough to see in the daytime anyone in Ohio can note that fromm the Ohio State Patrol gray ghosts.. never the less we can all agree to disagree.

In 1985 I was a victim of a BMW on the phone who clipped my motorcycle going 45 mph down the freeway ..with my light on, so I do feel for the motorcycles.

I also try to veer from SUV's trying to occupy my rear storage area as the carry on thier phone conversations with DRL's beaming into my rearview me "basically saying " move over or I will drive over you at 75 mph...

Ahh the joys of Sunday drives in California...

Anyways, thank you folks for letting me know that my car is OK and I'm a DUMMY HAHA!

I was almost bummed that I had a problem... the only problem was between my ears

Mo

AZ..... I just noticed Dan edited out his prior statement..... But thanks and you're right about the politically correct nonsense. Too many people today don't want to be honest and call things like they see them. They want to candy-coat everything. I will never fall into that group. If I see an idiot/moron I walk up and give him his sign!

EXACTLY. Mr. Cheney's been awfully well restrained in public with the way those chumps have been jumping down his throat. Nice to see a politician ACTUALLY say what we all know he/she's thinking...
