Not on my Crossy though. 167,000+ miles and she shifts just fine!
That's cool....167K....Doesn't the owner's manual say you shouldn't have to ever change the lubricant?

Yeah, but they want to sell you a new gearbox once in awhile. LOL
I'd change it, god alone knows what crap is floating around in it.

John, I would try, as a last ditch effort, change the fluid. But I think you have something going on in their that shouldn't. I saw a new listing on eBay for a trans with 5K miles on it, delivered to your door $1000. That is a tough number to swallow.

Good luck on how ever you decide. James

I would also flush the fluid in the clutch master and the slave cylinder. I bet it's going to need a clutch. If you flush the fluid in the master and it improves or goes awy the clutch is wasted. Buy the way mine is a auto and I'm thinking yours is hydraulically assisted not the old school cable?

I can't imagine any linkage being self adjusting, especially if you see him drive....lol... bottom line here is, unless it gets to the point you can't shift, I would drive it. You don't know how many vehicles I get drive at my position now. None are the same. Some have clutch problems, linkage problems, synchonizer problems, but all are getting by. He could have chipped a tooth so to speak, and when it is in rotation, it will grind for a split second...but it will run for a long time just like it is...an annoying yes, but it will be fine...drive it for awhile and see if it gets worse, and quit missing shifts...lol
