As soon as I saw Ryder in your post, I recall seeing a bunch of Sprinters Vans in their fleets. But the description has surprised me:

This is Shell ATF 134 and is in the original Shell containers with the appropriate Shell logo. It is a premium semi-synthetic ATF designed for use in Mercedes Benz 7 speed transmissions. It is suitable for Chrysler Crossfire, Sprinter Vans and other vehicles requiring Shell ATF 134 or Shell ATF 3353 fluids. The quart size containers are priced and sold individually and packed in cases of 12 from the manufacturer.

Found out that Fleet Products no longer carries Shell 134 or 3403 ATF. Too bad. Haven't been able to find another source.

Yeah, I saw this. What I was actually referring to was availability at the Fleet Products price which, if I recall correctly, was around $5.50 a quart about 18 months ago. Luckily, I bought two cases when they were still available at that price.

Yes it was. Although the stuff was advertised by Fleet as Pennzoil-branded Shell 134 (whatever that is), I received Shell 134 ATF in Shell plastic bottles packaged in a Shell box, just like the stuff shown on eBay.

any one know where I can get Shell 134 at a low price. Or what else I can use. I need to buy 8 qtrs. to replace my conductor plate in the tranny.

Since talking with Bill at Paramount Performance, I switch from the Mercedes branded trans fluid to the Mopar ATF+4 and will never go back. Shifts are firmer, and my trans fluid temps do not seem to fluctuate as much as they did on the Mercedes fluid. Oh and the OE supplier for Mopar ATF+4 is Valvoline.

The following are notes I have on transmission. I will add this shell to the list after confirming which of the mb specs it meets.

236.10 - MB P/N 001-989-21-03-10 - Designed for the 722.6 5-speeds in our cars and will produce the firmest and most accurate shifts You can get the filter from them as well as the seal around the bottom and the crush washer for the drain plug.
Mercedes Transmission Filter 1402770095 - RM European Auto Parts
Mercedes Transmission Pan Gasket 1402710080 - RM European Auto Parts
Mercedes Seal Ring (10 X 20 mm) Automatic Transmission Drain Plug 1402710060 - RM European Auto
Mercedes Benz Transmission Conductor Plate 1402701161
Volkstoymotorsports.com

236.12 - MB P/N 001-989-45-03-10 - Designed for the 722.9 7-speeds and MB also used it in the 5-speeds to reduce the number fluids they had to stock
236-14 - MB P/N 001-989-68-03-10 - Redesigned fluid for the 722.9 7-speeds to mitigate customer complaints of firm shifting
Or The correct fluid is : Mopar part# 05127382AA Transmission Fluid: Sprinter and Crossfire

I cannot see why you would go away from a recommended fluid, ATF+4 is used in the manual transmission and maybe the reason you feel a difference is because it is not suitable for the design of this transmission. Maybe you can explain the reasons.
I try not to follow the herd but on these matters I go with the flow so to speak.

I've done some research into the trans fluid used by Chrysler dealers for the older 300's and Chargers with the 5-speed NAG1 transmission. Seems that they all use ATF+4. Also, I've heard that Valvoline supplies Chrysler with their Mopar ATF+4. From this info, it would appear that it's OK to to use ATF+4 in the Crossfire NAG1 trans. Anecdotal reports support this conclusion.
