Good luck with your puchase. I hope to meet you at a future event. One coming up in a couple weeks. It is not too late.

I really don't care if it has the NAV system or not but I sure with that the stereo was XM or Sirrius ready. There is just not a really clean way to add one that I can see. Changing out the unit appears to be about the only choice but I haven't seen anything that really matches the dash. I guess that 2004 was the early edge of satellite radio though and a lot of cars weren't set up for it.
Re: Introduction and Thank You
Welcome to the forum Don, and enjoy the ride. The only radio capable of adding an iPod or CD changer accessory is the NAV unit. However there are a some options in the aftermarket that can provide XM, iPod, and DVDs. The biggest challenge will be finding one in silver.

Welcome and congrats one one of two of the best colors, the other being SSB
We went with the Alpine dash unit to do our i-Pod, and on the Alabaster, we chose the "Marine" unit, it more closely matched the dash than the model I picked for mine. Here's a shot in hers-

I don't know if they make a satilite ready model or not.
Again, welcome to the permagrin club.

Try not to fight too much with the Bride on who gets to drive it...lol...
Regarding that Alpine Radio, can you post the Model number.
I'm considering swapping out my stock radio...for Bluetooth and Audio Streaming...

My forum is dedicated to the Yamaha Venture, Royal Star Venture and Royal Star motorcycles. I have members that ride many other bikes also though. Basically a touring club. I started the site about 7 years ago. We have a lot of fun. It's a great group of folks. Very similar feel to what I'm finding here.

I also learned to not let this go very long the hard way as I eventully had to have the car towed home.

Clarion makes one that looks like it would match OK but the reviews aren't that good on it.

Yea, I know it's cheaper and I've tried it a couple of times but I really like satellite. I have it in my other two cars, in the house and on the motorcycle. Actually, one of them is built into a Garmin GPS and it moves between the motorcycle and my work car.
