Ignition key is starting to lock up,
Ignition key is starting to lock up,
Ignition key will stick and not turn at times. Driving car and it just went dead, coasted over and turned key and nothing happened. Battery was fine, pulled key out of ignition and retried the key and then it worked. Does anyone else have this problem? Taking to my mechanic this week.

If so you can follow the instructions and save money.
Your mechanic will want to replace the whole part but by removing the part that sticks inside it you can get away with using the old part and save $400 or so on a new part.
At the very least have your mechanic do this cheap fix, or do it yourself for nothing.
That will fix the key that will not turn, your other problem could be the crankshaft position sensor. Pulling the key out will not be the cure for this though, heat causes the part to fail eventually.
When you say nothing happened what do you mean by that? It means different things to different people strange as it may seem. Does the car turn over (crank) and fails to star or not turn over, dash lights, clicks?

Re: Ignition key is starting to lock up,
The car did not respond, it was as if the battery was dead, which it wasn't. I have had the ignition stick a few times and felt it may have been the cause. Once I pulled the key out of the ignition and reinserted it the car started just fine. It has me wondering it is the ignition or something else. I may fix and buy a newer Crossfire. This is a 2004 with 153,000 miles on it. It has been a great car.
