I replaced my factory rims some time ago and they did not replace my sensors. I recently had a service completed on the vehicle and was told that there is "a federal law that the sensors must be replaced because no dealer can circumvent the TPMS". Now I'm not sure if that is accurate and it's too late to get the factory ones back anyway... I've done some looking and the sensors are available; both new and used.

Has anyone had any experience with replacing these? Successful?

i put 4 air aware sensors in mine when i put new wheels on part #20028 from local carquest autoparts store and had dealer program them and they work perfect

 

These are $90 for four sensors.

Do you have to get the dealer to program them after you buy them?

 

yes you do. dealer only. mine charged me 43.00 chilson wilcox inc corning ny takes 10 min.

 

Tire stores can initiate these sensors if they have the proper equipment.
