Default Strap behind Passenger Headrest...

....I'm detailing the coupe for Woodward when I noticed for the first time a short horizontal strap at the back of the passenger headrest. Nothing on the driver's side. Any idea what they had in mind for that strap?

I believe it has to do with a child seat.

OK I assume you want the correct answer. It is a map holder. There was one in all real sports cars except British ones. They had map lights.

Funny thing, I was cleaning the Roadster yesterday with the Top down, and it was the first time I also noticed this strap.

So it's for holding Maps, what were the Germans thinkin with this feature...???

Just what I wanted, Maps floppin around when the Top is down, and I'm on the hunt...lol...

You guys put out more BS here lately....

Child seat strap guide- Owners manual:

Route the child restraint tether directly over the top of the seat, through the strap near the top of the seat back, and attach the hook to the anchor bar.

Until you take the first corner and it slides out, getting lost under the seat...

Every Sports car driver knows that maps go in the netting in the doors or along the tunnel passenger side. Her job is to "Nagrivate."

"Honey, according to this map you are supposed to uh,,, turn,,,,,,,uh,,left uh,,,,,,back there???"

The strap is for her safety. You secure your right hand there until the BP settles down.

roadster with a stick

Wrong answer, but with the arrival of GPS you do not require maps unless you have the OEM GPS in your Crossfire.

It is amazing how many highways are 'OFF ROAD'.
