Default XFire, BMW & a Mitsubishi??

There was a car chase at the south end of 355 today. I was doing about 90, ahead of a red Mitsubishi that looked like maybe a Galant or something (don't know Mitsus well). I passed a BMW. He seemed to take offense, because a short while later, he blew past and got ahead of me.

The chase was on. At around 135, the BMW driver seemed to decide that was enough, or, that was all he had. He didn't slow, but he didn't go any faster either. I was rather surprised though to see the Mitsu still right behind me.

We came up on some cars, slowed, moved around them, and took off again. The XFire didn't have any problem keeping up with the BMW on acceleration, but then, neither did the Mitsu.

What the hell kind of Mitsu was that??

The funny thing was, the BMW continued, but me and the Mitsu hit the same exit. There was a light at the top of the ramp and two lanes to turn left. He pulled up alongside me (it was him and his wife or GF) and I rolled down my window to laugh and tell him I had totally blown well past my intended exit. He laughed even more because he had done the same thing.

Fun times.

there are several Mitsu's that could be built to keep up with and/or beat the XFire.

Evo's
Eclipse's GST
3000GT's

But no idea what it was... If you remembered what it looked like, go to the google. :-)

That's the thing, it was not an Evo, Eclipse or 3000 GT... it was a schmaltz looking Mitsu, like a Galant or something.

Galants come with a 2.4L or a 3.8L @ 235hp. A N/A XF w/o mods is like what 220? Soo it wouldnt be a stretch to say that it might have been a normal 3.8 galant with a bit of velocity behind it.
