Default Retractable Trunk Cover

I was surfing after-market sites for my crossfire & came accross this site:

www.crossfiretuning.de/shop_e/index.php

I found they sell the "Retractable Trunk Cover". Has anyone seen or better yet purchased this item?

Or does anyone know of a distributor of this (or similar item) in the US?

Thank you in advance !!!!

Oh yeah ... and how much ????

I've been trying for 4 months to get a US price and delivery estimate for that cover from CTD. Won't answer emails or direct inquiries from the web site. $245EUR would be about $300US, plus whatever shipping would cost from Germany.

I will get some pics of mine in the next few days. I had mine on the car at purchase but in the UK they are around ’240 from the local dealer.

I would take some pics but I don't pick mine up until the 19th. I'm having it fitted by the dealer before I pick it up. Do some bartering with them, I got it for ’175 in the end :-)

Keep in mind that by having a cover like that, you are essentially saying to a burgler that you may have something valueable in your trunk.

Personally I'd rather a burgler look through the window to see that I don't have anything worth steeling rather than having them break in to find out there's nothing worth steeling.

Possible good point, but having to transport a work laptop worth a large amount of money, the cover is a must IMO.

i've been thinking about a cover myself. i usually have a pool-cue case in the back but i almost never leave it there when i'm not in the car. it's the "almost" that's got me thinking about a cover.

Has anyone fitted the cover themselves?
My dealer wants ’240 + ’80 fitting

Barter with your dealer. However once you already have the car it is hard to barter on these items. In the process of bartering on my car I got the boot cover for ’175 with free fitting. I saw one being installed whilst I was there and it looked realy easy. Couple of screws for the main unit and then two hooks. You could easily do it in an hour I should think. My dealer normally charges ’75/hour for this sort of work. I assume labour charges change depending on where you are in the country.

I took the part number that was posted to my Chrysler dealer. It is not shown in the parts computer or parts book yet. Not sure what the real deal is here. I would like to get one of these as I usually carry a laptop, but...IS THE DARN THING AVAILABLE IN THE U.S.? Can any of the Chrysler sales people or techs on the site check this out and let us know?

I've been told the MSRP will be about $259 - the part number of 8220889. Availability is TBD.
