Default Hey a new guy on the block

Hey everyone I am 19, I live in the middle of no where aka mohave desert southern ca. I have a fiance and a 8 month old son. I work on a naval base and I own a 2004 coupe, and a 2000 camry. I have been reading many threads on this forum for about 5-6 months, I purchased the car about 2 months ago. It is a 6 speed with about 64,000 miles on it. In my small town of 30,000 I am one of 3 crossfire owners that I have seen so far. I absolutely love everything about the car except for the mild lack of power and low gearing. I sort of wish I would have found a SRT6 nearby for the amazing deal I got, but I like having the stick. I am a learning gear head but definately an enthusiast. At 13 I bought a 86 Rx-7 GXL that didnt run and went to a local junkyard and got parts after parts to get the thing running and finally got it running and I hated the acceleration so I gutted out all the carpet and sound deadening and put lighter seats in so the only thing in the car was the 2 seats and 5 point harness'. I took it to get it smogged and it had a bad EGR valve and they wanted 700 for that but I could have just bought a JDM motor and tranny for a TII for 1200 so that car has been sitting in my parents backyard waiting for a decision of street legal or motor swap to red sticker it with no smog devices (because CA is sooooooo strict on emissions it ridiculous). Anyway at 16 I got a 86 F-250 diesel 3/4 ton with a 427. If you know those trucks and that year enough said. Then I took my first loan for an integra which I modded here and there for a year and a half, Intake, cat-back exhaust, cams, forged pistons, and the guy who used to own it put a nice coil over suspension with upper and lower strut bars front and back, 3 point upper back it was ASR or AER or something like that I dont quite remember. But then a guy blew a stop sign at 80 and totalled it. Then right after during my senior year I got jumped by 4 people with bats and had maxillo facial reconstructive surgery and a wired jaw for a while but I brushed it off and a year later bought a 97 eclipse with a nice ground effects kit. That thing had been falling apart faster than I even drove it so I grew up did alot of research mainly through this website realizing that there are alot of extremely wise people on here and decided I might like a crossfire. Of course after all the other vehicles... I drove it,and it was a done deal. I thank you all curently and in advance for I know alot of you have great input for these cars and cars in general so thanks,
Josh

Welcome to the forum Josh. Hope you have better luck with your Crossfire than some of your other cars. I wish you and your young family the best. If you get the chance an SRT would be great.

Thanks Bigkid so far these cars seem bulletproof. It was a one owner car and by the care and maintenance it seems as if it was really taken care of well.

I missed the part where you told us what color it was. Either way congrats, and find some twisty canyon roads to enjoy the damn thing

Thirteendog thank you and its white, I took a 950 mile roadtrip the first weekend with it and it was extremely stable compared to any car I have driven I absolutely love the handeling. And still had more guts in 6th than my old lil 4 bangers

I meant it has more guts in 6th gear than the 4 bangers did in third... oops that's what happens when people run you out of your office.

Seriousely, only the Navy would put a base in the desert! Good luck on the new (to you) car! You'll have to get a bigger one as a second one if you want to travel as a family unless you put the mrs in the hatch area... Really, its a great MB in chrysler label. Hope she performs to your liking and expectations!
