i was in the left passing lane and some idiot was in the turning lane with his signal on turning left at the intersection i was proceeding to go straight when this idiot decided to turn right and hit my car next thing i know he fled the scene no license plate number just a description of the car i was going about 15 this jackass was goin about 10-15 but i checked my crossfire for damage to my surprise just a few minor scrapes ill take photos today but i was expecting the bumper to fall off the crossfire is built like a tank sturdy i love my car unfortunately this jack *** didnt stop i filed a police report but no license plate number

 

Same thing happened to me (somewhat) at the StLouis CAA in the parking garage. As I approached my car (@100ft) I saw a white van back out of a space and lightly hit my back bumper just enuff to dent it a little. Same thing .. he took off and I didn't get the plate. I didn't make a police report, but reported it to hotel security. My insurance took care of the repair with my deductible.

 

thats how some people are these days whatever happened to honesty in America well i reaaallly dont want to pay $200 over some jackass of course i could have chased him down got the plate number but i didnt want to put anyones life at risk chasing some *** clown bc im pretty sure he would have tried to take it over 100 mph on the interstate so i said screw him filed a report but the sad part is i might have to pay 200 over his mistake

 

while i was waiting i saw the same car it turned around had the nerve to turn around and come back driving by the scene couldnt get its plate

typical new yorker i don't use punctuation on forums only in letters and documents lets focus on whats important here guy the fact that my crossfire looks better than urs im cooler than u will ever be and i was involved in a hit and run

 

stock 5.0 gt will blow the srt6 off the road but its a nice car i mean if u want fast at an mediocre price the srt6 is def an option i just got my crossfire for looks a beautiful car not very fast rather quick but the look of it is amazing

I'm with you on this, I'm English born, that explains a lot and it's the English language and I still FUBAR it.
I want a poster sized one on the wall and if I had it tattooed on the back of my hand I could take it with me and read it when I'm bored or need it.

 

I had a similar incident at Chateau Elan near Braselton, GA back in AUG/2009. Car was parked in the self parking lot across from the hotel lobby. I had the car all the way down to the far end of the lot sitting by itself. I checked the car on Saturday evening and everything was fine. We go to leave on Sunday AM and I find the left rear "skinned up" from someone rubbing the car in the parking lot. No cars in the lot that would seem to be responsible. Left taillight assembly was cracked and the bumper had scratches all over the left rear.

I made a report to the office in case anyone saw the incident. Heard later from the county sheriff that an incident had been reported by someone. But he needed to see the damaged car to verify my story and corroberate the report. Unfortunately, he didn't contact me until 3-4 weeks after the incident & I had the car repaired by then. He would not accept my photos of the damage. I figured it was probably a regular customer of Chateau Elan & they were protecting him/her from a claim and potential arrest warrant from me.

Lots of "rectal orifices" in & around that place!!!

 

Too bad you did not get his license plate number.

i mean first reaction was to chase him down but then u dont want to put anyone's life in danger by speeding in a suburb so i decided to just call cops but if we were on an open highway different story neverthe less he was more likely drunk

Built like a tank back there? No ... there really isn't a rear bumper. See my thread(s) on installing a backup camera -- I removed that rear "bumper" cover, and show pics.

The black-painted styrofoam under the carpet in the hatch is the rear energy-absorbing area.

If that pic shows the damage completely, the cover may be repairable. I'd replace that side marker though if cracked front or back, or if that paint on it doesn't come off cleanly.

Look for some tears in the cover's plastic up where it bolts to the quarter panel (two hidden 10mm bolts from above). If torn, probably time for a new/used cover. Either way, you can hand-carry the cover to a body shop and reinstall it yourself to save some big bucks. If there's sheetmetal damage, the whole car needs to go in.

Good luck with the repair! And maybe hang out at the intersection on similar days/times and see if you spot him again and can get the plate number.

 

thanks yeah ill eventually scout the area for that car it was a late 80's model mercedes i believe but as far as the repair im not paying for his dumb mistake so ill take the car to an buddy of mine hell get the paint off the only problem is the tail marker light will probaly need to be replaced im not too concerned about that as long as it works but that ******* fled the scene a class b misdemeanor in the state of tn so i was like f that over this but if that were my mom or friend in that car rubber would have been burnt!! but not worth it over a scrape or two im sure ill catch the sob sooner or later it was neara uniiversity thanks for the input if i have any questions ill email u

 

Cruise the nearby parking lots too, but if you find it call the police, don't confront the person or stay nearby.

If you are really lucky much of that will buff-out!

P.S. At least an attempt at proper capitalization and punctuation would be appreciated by mankind -- this stuff has infinite life, you know. (Not that I is an eggspert at these stuff ...)
