Default Weird engine noise! *Video inside*

Well, for the last 2 weeks or so, a weird noise coming from the engine. I literally have no clue. I spent a lot of time just looking for where the noise is exactly coming from, and I couldnt figure it out. All I know is, it is coming somewhere from the top part of the engine.

I tried to video tape it, and you can clearly hear this unknown noise, however, it is clearer in person. Towards the end of the video, the sound goes away completely.

P.S. The car operates normally, NO codes on the dashboard whatsoever, everything seems perfectly normal while driving or idling.

Any toughts??? Here is the video:

Something sounds loose.Perhaps a belt or pulley?

I would remove the drive belt and see if the noise is still there. This will tell you if its external or internal?

May be a bearing gone in one of the belt driven accessories. Alternator, water pump or idler pulley would be my guess. How many miles on the car?

Could be anything from a pulley bearing to valves. Buy a mechanic's stethoscope from the autoparts store and start touching around

My guess would be a bearing in the idler or tensioner. Or even one of the other bearings is highly possible.
I have had bearings that did that, noise and then nothing. If one finally seizes you'll need a new belt and a tow job.
Release the belt tension and spin the pulleys.
It's too dangerous to do the screwdriver to ear trick though.

I agree that is is a pully bearing. I went to have my belt changed and anf the pulley next to the supercharger was cracked all the way across and the bearing was making the same noise.

PS I had to call Rob at Needswins for a pulley saver kit due to the fact that the pulley is on back order.

It's a bearing noise as the others have stated. Mine makes a similar noise which goes away when the fan is not running. (Yep, mine's the fan) So do a little experimentation to find out which bearing.

Thanks guys. My inital thought was that it was coming from a pulley. However, when I lean towards the left side of the engine, I hear it, and when I lean right side of the engine, I hear it. If it was a pulley bearing, dont you think I could clearly hear where it was coming from?

This is strange, The noise is there, coming from the engine, I look right at it but yet, I cant figure out where it is coming from.
