Gotta buy one.
Gotta buy one.
I took a test drive over the weekend. It was an automatic but I still couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face. I'm buying one at the end of this month. I just gotta, it would be a crime not to. So from the other posts I've read it looks like the consensus is that the $2500 incentive deal is still goin on? Lets hope.
I've noticed that a bunch of folks have K&N products in their cars, air filters I would assume. Do they make the kind that are drop-in, replacing an existing paper filter, or are they the kind that replace the entire airbox?

That's ont a true CAI, it's only a partial because the cheap plastic s#!t they put in there leaks and colapses so it pulls in HOT air from under the hood. This is why I am inthe process of making my own out of either PVC or stainless or aluminum. Unless someone else has a link to a site where we can buy a setup.

I'd think any decent aftermarket shop could work up a kit for you. My local Upsolute dealer after doing my ECU recommended for the next steps to take a)air filters b) high-flow cat and exhaust and c) new intake. He even offered me a discount (50% off) if I'd be the first Crossfire for him to mod like that (baiting me to be the guinea pig ). Other than K&N's, I'll probably what for the 3/36 to expire before I start doing anything that extensive, though if the intake leaks I wouldn't be opposed to using a bit of silver tape or such to close leaking areas.
silver tape or even duct tape........ well, I'll be, there's the propper use for that stuff.. He He
But seriously, there's a lot of air leaking in those things.
I took an '89 Mercedes SEC that had the exact same set up, using the exact pieces.
Maybe even a ram air hood or a small, smooth hood scoop.
I know a shop in upstate NY that makes real carbon fiber hoods. let me see if i can find his web site....
