Default Newb questions b4 i buy one

Test drove an SRT6 and have a few concerns.

1. Key is hard to turn.
2. Rear hatch rattles.
3. I was waiting to hear the whine of the SC but the only whine I could hear sounds like it comes from the rear end.

car has under 50K miles and appears to have been well taken care of.

are these easy fixes and fairly normal for these vehicles.

thanks for any info.

I can't address the rear hatch rattle, because I have a roadster, but the "sticky Key" is an issue that has been addressed many times here, and if you do a search you'll know more. It is a problem for some cars.
If you drove the SRT and put the pedal all the way down, you should have not only heard the whine of the SC, but pushed back in the seat and had a "permagrin" on your face. The acceleration should have been incredible.
Where are you at ..... I am going to have an absolutely immaculate SRT6 roadster that may be available. PM me, but it wont be cheap. 22K miles and perfect.

1. Relatively easy fix : https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post567833

2. Very easy :https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...r-hatch-2.html
plus there is a TSB listed in the SRT6 Documentation Section under SRT6. Look under TSB 23-019-04
here:https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ollection.html

3. Could be a potential rear end or wheel bearing problem. I would get that looked at before purchasing.

Good luck.

No John .... bought a Red N/A coupe with 17K, sight unseen. Gary was nice enuff to check the car out while I was in Florida. I'll be picking it up sometime in March. Actually the SRT roadster is too much car for me at this time in my life, and I hate to see it go, but really don't want to own 2 of them now. LOL Hopefully someone here that wants a "cherry" SRT Roadster will pick it up.

Your other questions have been answered already, so I will address the SC whine. If it still has the stock CAI on it, you will not be able to hear the SC from inside the car. I was a bit concerned when I first bought mine that I could not hear it. Put on a NeedsWings CAI, and it will be much faster, and you will then hear the beautiful sound of the SC. Good luck with the purchase. The SRT is a blast to drive and own.

Good to hear, when I first started reading your response, I was thinking you were going for a SCed 55 swap like some others have done.

Personnally a modded NA is plenty fast for me around town, now when I start racing this year, I may feel a little differently, but after several tickets at nearly twice the limit, I know my impulse control is not great LOL
