Default Tires sizes that will fit the body design of the XF

Hi All,

And thanks in advance for your help.

I had a look on previous postings...

Two Questions! for you Guys!

Will a 275 40 19 will fit the rear ( I am thinking to go 40 because I do live in Houston and roads are bad, especially in downtown area... where I live!)

And what about, for the front 235 45 18 ( same reasons ) trying to increase comfort!

SECOND question!

What would be the perfect tires to have a perfect alignment Body/Tires.
I am not looking to have the tires sticking out the wheel well either just to have them nicely align with the body structure!

With a 40(r) and a 45(f), I might think to very slightly lower the car for an aesthetic purpose... any idea?

Thanks All,

Happy New Year 2011

Please Do not drink and Drive.

All hot girls can call me to drive them back home...sorry guys take the cab! ahahha

The 40's will suffice in the rear as long as you don't go too wide. You should be OK with the 275/40R19 and not rub fender wells, but how will it look? ... HMMM. But in any event, up front, any tyre taller and wider than 235/40R18 risks catastrophic conflict with the upper control arm nut.

As step one always, consider doing everyone a service and use the SEARCH function.

Regards.

I have personally run 315mm wide rear tires on the rear of my 6 without rubbing...............so there is no need to worry about 275's(unless you have some horrible offset aftermarket wheels).

To run a 235 series tire on the front, spacers are a wise decision.
Plenty of posts on this. A 10mm spacer on the front and a 12mm spacer on the rear (with longer lug bolts) will get you the look you are after, and you will not have to worry about the Upper A-Arm nut coming into contact with the front tire.

Also, when running a 275/40 tire on the rear your speedo will be off several mph. A 275/35 as I have makes it about 1.6-2.0mph off. Just food for thought.

Here is a post to get you started....

OK thanks All.
Thank You ....Fast for the link. got pics and now know that the front is 235/40 max!
I noticed that the rear might need 275 to have a nice wheel well look.
I do not thing that 275/40/19 will fit.

I bought a little while ago a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus great tires but it did not fit...
don`t know if the no fitting was specific to that brand model or just the 275/40/19 is a no go...

Well, thanks a lot again

My very best,

Max
