Default 2011 Insurance Rates?

I've been paying around $352/6 months each on Fred & Wilma .....with Farmers.....$1K deductible on collision & comprehensive.....Wilma's next bill (due in January) is going up to $426/6 months. Seems like a steep rate increase.......no accidents, 40+years with company, auto & home discounts????

All rates are up. Mine is around 500 with State Farm but I have a $250 deductible.

Rates for my son (new driver) with every imaginable discount for good driver, good student, umbrella, etc. etc. is $783 !!!!!!!!!! on the Bonneville I gave him. It's still a $250 deductible as well and I kept it that way because it was only about $40 cheaper to raise it to $1000.

Mine also increased, I spoke to the agent and she told me that some of the increase was due to projected increased medical costs that the insurance company was in store for. Have you looked at your "free" healthcare policy lately?

Yeah, my health insurance premium is going up almost $50/month next year.....only saving grace is it's a high ded with an HSA feature.....so between what the employer contributes + what I can contribute = $7,150 into the tax deferred HSA (kinda like a medical IRA).....add that to the 22K we each put into 403Bs....= $51,150 worth of deductions from taxable income right off the bat.

I think Obama might be switching parties, you hear about his proposal to have a 1 year reduction in how much SS is withheld ...from 6.2% down to 4.2%. Kinda strange proposal since "they" are also whining about SS going bust &/or increasing the retirement age?????

While I'm whining about $..... have you guys noticed premium has gone up about 10% in the last few weeks!!!

Even Quick Trip ETOH stained stuff (on the way to the casino this morning) was $3 today. I use 2-3 gallons / day.....yikes, I may need to get a full time job if this keeps up!!

Fortunately they should be opening a new casino just 3-4 miles from my house next summer.....that right there will probably save me 10,000 miles of driving / year.

This is not the political section but, I'll go one morepost on this. Obama did not propose that. American Solutions did thru Congressman Jordan.

He did present it as a product of the meeting. I'm sure his adoring followers think he came up with it. And later, when they figure out what it means, they will slap him smartly for doing so.

Has anyone checked Hartford through AARP? I saved a lot of cash by changing to them from State Farm.

I'm 24 with 3 tickets on my record and my insurance just dropped from $909 for 6 months down to $511 for 6 months with full coverage, $500 deductible insured through Progressive as my commuter car. I've gotta say, I was THRILLED about the huge drop but it's mostly attributed to an accident I had 3 years ago (not in the Crossfire) that just dropped off my record.

It's almost scary to think how cheap my insurance would be without those tickets...

While this may not be the political section, I firmly believe that some of the increases we will be seeing in “free” medical care and related insurance costs, fuel and eventually taxes are a direct result of the elections of 2008.

Obama’s crew, the 47,000 czars are circumventing our elected Congress and Federal Courts in implementing policy in this Republic.

Last political word, “wealth is earned not distributed.”

Now I'll be good ....
