My father and I have to come up with nearly $1300 every 6 months for my 6-speed crossfire. Sooner or later I know he will leave Country Companies for a better rate.

Cody, I was quoted the same exact price for "full coverage" from Nationwide on my AMX back in December of 69 when I turned 19.
$1520.00 a year was a little "steep" back then too.

I'm not bitching, I'm whining....I think there's a difference. I did contact them & made the case that it's a PLEASURE VEHICLE ...waiting for a new quote.

best way to beat the high price is to list it as low miles not driven back & forth to work & list as pleasure vehicle !!! Ins Co doesnt need to know all the facts !!!! Thats how they jack up your cost !!!

So Mr. Mahoney you are basically suggesting everyone commit insurance fraud? That's why rates are like they are now. FYI in many cases Pleasure rating will get you a higher rate. Its specific to the company you are insured with and each state has their own insurance laws so what one of us has in say Maryland will not be the same as someone in Kansas. Your situation may also not be the same as the person who's telling you about their "low" rates. What you really need to do is take an hour or so before your renewal, sit down with your agent and go over your policy. Make sure you are getting all the discounts you deserve. If you don't like what you see then shop it. Make sure you are using the same coverages for comparison. Some agents will give you a stripped down policy that looks like a bargain until you have a claim. If you are in Maryland, Virginia, D.C. feel free to PM me I am happy to help you.

I know I don't have it bad at all. I was quite surprised when I called for a quote on the Crossfire. I had a 98 Chrysler Sebring before my Crossfire and I was paying like 610 every 6 months so I am quite happy. 0 accidents and 0 tickets help me out as well.

Ed Insurance companies aren't stupid. They most likely get the mileage when you apply for your insurace and if you go over a certain amount and have a wreck you have given them the out to pay the claim. Ain't worth it to commit insurance fraud to save a few bucks. In the long honesty works best!!!

I dont have to read my 1st post !!! I wrote it !!!!!I Once I went over my miles in a year by 30 miles so they said, Ins Co raised my rates ! I called them on it & when they double checked turns out their figures where wrong last time they checked miles on my car was also over a year my two weeks !!! So I wasnt 30 miles over after all !!! All Im saying is stay on them to lower the cost or tell them you will find some who has lower rates !! My comes thru every time !!!

Geez. I have insurance with Allstate, full-coverage, deductible is $100 and I only pay $65US mth. $390US per 6 mths. I'm also 27 and have only had 3 tickets ever. Car is paid for in full too. There's plenty of ways that your guys down at the insurance are able to wheel and deal.

2005 Limited Coupe 40,000 miles.

Miracles happen if you go into your agent and tell them your shopping the competitor and you got this particular quote..."can you match or beat it?

Worked for us....

As an insurance agent I run my quotes every month. For me I have found travlers, safeco, progressive and encompass to offer the best rates. If you have motorcyles write them on a seperate policy with american modern. American modern is also good for hot rods and collector vehicles due to the fact that you can insure "spare parts." i have been in discussions with them to try and get my xfire insured by them for that reason. I drive it less than 6k a year amd want the included 2k of spare parts coverage. If I ever get them to add the xfire to thier program I will give everyone a heads up here. For me the cost would be 350 a year for 250/500 500 ded. Plus it would insure our spare parts! i can not be the only one with a shelf full of those.
