I'm sorry you got into an accident, and I'm even more sorry that you had just taken collision coverage off of your policy.

Your best bet might be to find someone who recently had their car totaled in a rear end accident, and offer to buy their car for the insurance buy out amount.

Then you just swap parts, and repaint the car.

That, or search for a auto salvage yard that has everything you need, and buy it from them.

I would think that the white cars are probably the rarest for parts.

BC.

Agree that salvage yards may be the best for the parts you need, ie fender, reservoir. Someone replacing their hood with the carbon fiber hood being made here may help you out and sell you their old one or someone here in Miami is selling hoods for $700 on ebay.

Good luck

Looks like about 2 - 2.5k in damages. BTW you really were following that truck closely. GL on the repairs.

Joe, a very depressing set of pix.

I Google'd ~ chrysler crossfire salvage parts

And quite a few links came back.

This link looked interesting:

Salvage chrysler crossfire Cars for Sale

It showed some XF wrecks, but you will need to research further, as who knows what's still available.

Good Luck in getting this fixed...

You can blame the other guy all you want to, but this is a case of following too closely. I understand your frustration - but anyone has the right to stop at anytime. (There IS a bit of an exception that applies to interstates, I guess.) You have an obligation to leave enough space to be able to stop, too.

And, again, I know it gets to you. But it there was not a sign that said, "Keep Moving" - it's all on you.

On the up side... I saw a "salvage" white XF coupe on autotrader very recently. I think they wanted $4,000 for it - can't remember what was damaged. There are a LOT of XF's for sale at good prices now... the insurance will total it - take the money and get another one!

EDIT - DAMN: Just saw the thing about taking the insurance off. THAT is just about predictable. Welcome to life.

I'll sure keep my eyes open... I"m going over eBay and other sites every day for a car AND various parts myself.

I was gonna not put collision on the second car, but you have convinced me to spend the $30 or so a month - it's worth it.

Well .... now you can cancel ALL insurance on the xFire and save that expense. Just don't let it catch on fire or get stolen. Sorry for your situation, but if insurance totals it, strip the good stuff, and get another one, when you can. Just sayin ...

Looks like a pretty bad crash....
I just wondered if your wheels are painted black of if that is a case of severely dirty wheels in those pics.

Can TVT help you? At work we get replacement parts from a company called LKQ, its quality salvaged parts.

Your damage is more than 2k. We took in an Audi a4 that only needed a fender, headlight and front bumper and we quoted 2K. However that includes labor and supplies etc. But by doing it yourself youll save quite a bit. Your lucky from what I see cause you could of shoved your motor back. If your radiator support is bent then that will be an obstacle. Looks like the front bumper is ok though

Sorry for the bad luck. Your best bet is to find a Crossfire that has been rear-ended 'cause you're going to need a lot more parts than you have listed.

Alabaster owners all over the forum are weeping tonight. Hope you can get it back together and as good as new again by spring.
Glad no one was hurt.
Good Luck

By the way, that trailer hitch looks like a Medieval Battering Ram.

Dang. What a shame. Wonder if the insurance company would have considered it totaled if you did have the insurance on it.

Good luck on the fix.

Sorry for your loss, but I would recommend that you cut your losses here and piece it out. You'll probably make enough to buy another Crossfire.

The way it stands right now, I can tell you that the passenger side frame is definitely damaged. You definitely need a new radiator mount. The amount of money you're going to spend on finding parts like the passenger side fender and headlight assembly (besides all the other big ticket and rare items) would far outweigh any benefit of fixing it. It will never really be the same again. I know how you feel and I would feel the same way if this happened to mine, but I would rather part it out and let the good parts go to still-roadworthy XFs. After all, it is just a car.

My two cents.
