Saw these on my road trip
Re: Saw these on my road trip
Yeah, Crossfires are a rare commodity that's for sure, but that "Wieny" sure seems to get around.

Oh, I wish I was an Oscar Mayer Wienner, that is what I'd truly love to be, if I were an Oscar Mayer Wienner then everyone would be in love with me .... tada. Damn, I guess I'm showing my age ..
I can still remember the day when one of those came through the neighborhood and handed out some lovely hot dogs .. lemme think, that musta been in 1912 ...

Re: Saw these on my road trip
While you might think Crossfire's are an uncommon sight we have several of them here in Nampa, ID. In our subdivision of 100 homes we have 3 coupes, our 2008 Red and Gold ones and a close neighbor has a 2005 Gray one. Just a mile away there is a 2004 Alabaster coupe. I have seen one of every color roaming the City and one of them is another gorgeous Red one like mine.
Even so, it is quite rare to be parked in a shopping Mall or store without someone going out of their way to tell us they really love our cars. I came out of the Pharmacy recently only to find a little old granny, obviously in an adult diaper, peering at the hood emblem trying to define the manufacturer. I took the time to explain the entire Crossfire legend to her and she loved it.
We love them too! We have had mine for 27 months and the only problem was a minor oil leak on the left rocker cover. The gold car is totally trouble-free in the 22 months we have owned it. We have 2 other vehicles so only have a combined total of 16,000 miles on the Crossfire's but expect them to be relatively trouble-free in the future. I will add that I have curb-rashed 3 wheels at $122 each to restore to like-new appearance. The low profile tires and the wide wheels are not forgiving! Driver beware!
I recently replaced the noisy OEM Conti tires for much quieter Hankook tires on my Red car. It will NOT be our winter car, the Gold car with the Conti's will be used in light snow conditions. If only every State would outlaw studs in favor of the newer ice and snow tires our roads would be quieter and would require less maintenance. Five years ago WA State admitted to spending $10 million dollars annually to repair stud damage.

Like I was told on a similar post, chick magnet.
True though. I came out of my local Starbucks recently after only going to the counter, and four guys (three obviously foreign] are surrounding the car arguing about what it was. All four told me, "Nice car," as I got in.
How about these three/one for a road trip sighting:

Re: Saw these on my road trip
From southwest Ohio to Cherry Hill, NJ a few days back I saw three: an SSB SRT-6 'vert, an alabaster coupe & a red 'vert. Getting in the last of the good driving weather, I suspect. Around Philly, I've seen several red coupes, or it could be a forum member stalking me for a post-election hit
No memorable cars this trip, the Crossfires included, which is quite rare for me. But then I was doing the driving so no time to rubberneck.

Re: Saw these on my road trip
This early Fall I drove from Arizona via Utah, Idaho, etc. to Yellowstone and returned via Colorado to Arizona and only observed ONE crossfire. That's just under 3000 miles and one Xfire in beautiful weather. I took my van because the dog and camping equipment would not fit in the roadster or coupe. So out west or should I say east of California there are not many Xfires in the real west. Flame suit on.
Re: Saw these on my road trip
I'm new to the club.......
I live in Ogden, Utah and do know of a white Crossfire that is parked outside and seems to be a daily driver....
Mine is a 05 Black that came from Idaho a few months ago....I have only seen one or maybe two other crossfires here in northern Utah.
I have seen a couple of them south of Salt Lake, but they are rare around here.
It would be nice to know there are other xfire owners close by.
