I think that what killed the SRT-6 was the new for '06 production of Machine Gray 6 speeds!! Who would want a non-Machine Gray Automatic anything?

Unless it was a Bright Silver;

I (semi-retired) am at work (part time) saving lives right now......my excuse for being on the internet on a Sat. evening!!

One thing that nothers me is with less than 40K miles it has a new tranny?? They said Chrysler misdiagnosed something in it, surprise, surprise, and replaced the tranny even though that was not the problem. I do not mind the thought of a new tranny, but I do mind the thought of the same guys who misdiagnosed a car to the tune of $1,000's of dollars are the same ones who put the new tranny in.

Doc, how's the housing market in your neck of the woods? In the greater KC area right now you can find 3 year old (new-never lived in) homes with tax appraisals of $1M with asking prices of $700K. On a house like that the builder was probably originally asking $1.2 or 1.3M....if the state has a tax appraisal of $1M on an unsold new home.....the builder probably put at least that much into it to build it!

These are homes that in Calf. 5 years ago would have sold for 2-3M$.

I'm looking for a house with an $800 K state tax appraisal that is delinquent on taxes to steal for $500K....

No kidding ah! Slim pickings, most of the cars on Kijiji have been on there since I was looking back in July!

YIKES!! I only paid $2200.00 more for my 04 brand new.

But those weren't "Canadian" dollars.

Just from the pics I can see that the Illinois one Gary saw was wayyyyyyy nicer then the "showroom perfect" one in Findlay.

The one in Ohio had that "looks good from 50 feet" finish on it. As soon as you got close to it you could tell it has been through the automatic car wash every week of it's life since 2004. Too many little dings in the paint that looked like someone tried to fix them with Testor's model paint, the burned off paint on the front corner, the center caps of the fogs sitting on the bottom of the fixturte, etc etc etc. So many little things that as a whole it's not worth the price at all.

On a seperate note........ why don't you want John to get another Crossfire Chris L ? It seems to me like you've taken every opportunuty to derail this thread? When John's ready to tell us what happened he will.....actually it's pretty smart of him to wait till everything is settled. Personally, I couldn't care less about home prices in this thread...... take it to another thread or PM. I'm not trying to be a *****..... I just want to keep this on track so we can find John his next Crossfire.

Must be a Kansas thing.

John should say as little as possible before all is settled with Insurance.

Let me say this, I followed him a good part of the morning with spirited driving. Skill was not an issue. Two sets of dogs in the road, fog etc. He was on top of the game.

The turn was gentle and we were going the 45 MPH limit. Whatever put his one wheel off the road,,,,,,,don't know. But there was almost no wheel marks in the crowned, grass covered, shoulder. Once he was off the pavement, he slid on his belly pans. Wheels flailing useless in the air

So anybody want to suggest skill levels can deal with me. Man just totaled his car the first thing I offered him was the keys to mine.

Sorry John. I know it is your story. But a coupla postings back, a snicker comment kinda ticked me off. I'd be happy to torque their nuts a bit for ya.

Franc

Dennis, Thanks for the help, I am going to look at the list right now. I am have looked at the coupe in Carmel and it is beat up pretty badly.

The XF was not abused, and politely, "kiss my ******* ***."

I had an automobile accident where I totalled a car with over 10K aftermarket I have been personally building for two years, almost dieing in the process and you say abused, please take your attitude from this thread. And no, no one wants to buy your silver car for 10K over market.

I like the machine grey, usually pretty pricey, if you can find one.

Franc and Steve, I appreciate your both 'having my back' and in 6 months, once the facts are out, and someone wants to rib me, that is just fine, but until my injuries are healed and I have a new XF under my butt, they can keep those comments to themselves, I appreciate you saying something while I was out of town and away from my PC.

As of right now, Kit Fox's car in Chicago and the one Gary looked at are my potential choices, especially since they are only 3-4 hours away.

Guess I will be taking a mini road trip to Chicago

It is an amazing looking car, but for $19,500 it better fly.

That is more for a modded NA than a modded SRT with low miles, so its a no go.

All kid'n aside I can easily see how easy it would be to wreck my car. I lives in the middle of twisties and I am always push'n the envolope. Afterall that's what insurance is for.
