The Ten Worst Poser Cars
Re: The Ten Worst Poser Cars
Great points above, on the cars and other topics posted about above. Yeah, to have not listed the solstice or the sky shows how off most of this is. I drove the solstice NA and I'll have to say it was the MOST flippin' boring, poorly made thing I've had the displeasure to drive since maybe something in the mid 70's. Hmm. The 79 Mustang comes to mind immediately.
Good. Maaybe now even more folks will stay away from it, I can pick up another even cheaper, and in 10 or so more years people will be marveling at our rides. I have at least 5 people a day that as I drive by they are craning their necks to see it. And even the NA will play with others well. Good enough for me.

Re: The Ten Worst Poser Cars
Did anyone notice that he doesn't actually explain why it's "poserific"? He just complains. I don't understand why he thinks the suspension is made of marshmellows, as even the N/A suspension is pretty stiff. Actually, I think if it was any stiffer, there would be handling problems like in the first gen Audi TTs.
Me thinks he's never driven one. Also, he can't count.

Interesting article, I’m somewhat amazed that he failed to list the SLK, my understanding is that the Crossfire is built from that car. There seems to be more opinion rather than automotive fact. Me thinks that this article was written by a poser automobile journalist.

How they came up with this list blows my mind.
here is a link to the first article asking for the readers input
What's The Ultimate Poser Car?
Throughout the day 1 car kept reappearing, The Porsche Boxter
and yet in the end it failed to make the list. (perhaps Porsche is a sponsor)
The crossfire had one single person suggest it while other cars had at least
3-5 suggestions.

Haters gonna keep hating. I'm happy with my purchase.
Re: The Ten Worst Poser Cars
Being a true car guy, I never gave Crossfires a 2nd glance after seeing a new one on a lot shortly after they came out. I thought is was more cute than sporty. Particularly the interior. It had the two tone light gray interior. But the 35k price tag quickly got me moving away. I saw it as being a upper middle class womans car. Several years later while looking for a Dodge Magnum that I couldn't afford I asked jokingly about a little black 2004 Crossfire with 34000 miles. To show my ignorance of the cars, I thought they were all SSB with the light gray interior. I always assumed it had a chrysler V6 and most likely a lackluster suspension. Anyways, I thought what the heck, if they let me drive their pricey little sports car, then what's the loss. My first awakening to the car was the price. I figured they would want 24k for the thing. Surprisingly he quoted the car as 15,8000. I took the thing out for a drive and was hooked. Beings I'm a bright enough guy I told them I would talk to them the next day about the car. I went home and studied up on the car and found out the car I was looking at was about 2k too high!!! I ended up finding my 2005 SSB Cedar/Slate interior car with a hair under 18000 miles for $13,885. My car guy brother said it best. When I told him I was going to buy one he didn't understand, but after he drove mine, he got it, In the end, if my little car weren't the underdog it is, I wouldn't have been able to afford one.
Re: The Ten Worst Poser Cars
Don't take that list to heart........ I think almost every single car thats listed is a good car. It's not always about speed. I never thought the Crossfire looked fast.... I always thought it was a good looking classy car and thats what everyone else thinks when they give me compliments. If you want a fast car then buy a race car. I have a feeling this list was made by a bunch of 16 year olds who are stuck driving their Honda's and have yet to experience what a "good" car is. No offense to anyone who might like Honda. I just think they are just plain boring cars for people who don't really car about driving or having fun driving for that matter.
Re: The Ten Worst Poser Cars
I don't grasp what's not fast about an XFire, even an N/A gets it pretty good compared to most other cars on the road. Even a slow motorcycle is fast compared to a car (especially comparing acceleration), but my XFire is much quicker than my Harley, and I've "raced" down the interstate with a couple of crotch rockets and the XFire did damn good - I wouldn't "win", but they weren't exactly pulling away from me either.

I find it odd that people who have never driven the car will be very quick to judge the car based on numbers. Stupid is as stupid does, though.

I get to see that look on occasion also.

I have only come up against one n/a Crossfire and the result was pretty funny. I looked in my mirror and it looked like he hit the brake instead of the gas. At the next light l told him "I thought where going to race me" and he said he did punch it and try! I was very embarassed for suggesting he didn't hit the gas.

That's the criteria for a poser I guess, & yes the NA does look like it ought to be quicker than it is.....if it was just another car people would say it's snappy & buildt like it was carved from a block of stone.
