It sounds like you are talking about the 4 rubber O rings around the oil filter. I am talking about the metal washer that goes around the oil drip hole.

How can you change the oil in 15 minutes? And do it in the parking lot of Auto Zone. That sounds imposible.

 

Oh yeah I meant those 4 O-rings.

appx. 15 minutes. I started right around 3pm, maybe a couple minutes before 3 and at 03:15 I screwed the last bolt in on the engine cover thing at the bottom of the car.

I put the ramps on, drove the car over the ramps, removed the plastic cover real quick (about 2 minutes or so.) removed the bolt to drain the oil. While it was draining, I pulled the filter out, quickly replaced the O-rings and the filter, screwed it back in. Oil was fully drained by then (just very small slow drips) Plugged the bolt back in, poured 8.5qrts of mobil1 m0w-40, started to car to see if there were any leaks. Quickly put the cover back on. The reason I did it very quick because I have changed my oil before so I knew what to do. Oh let's not forget, being in the middle of a strip mall parking lot helped me get it done quickly as well

 

I believe it can be done that fast (especially with ramps)... just weird that you did it in the parking lot. How did you get the ramps there? Did you carry them in the Crossfire?

 

I bought them from autozone. After I was done, I put them on the passenger seat and drove home. I was desperate to get this oil changed. It had been 5k or so miles. I didnt have a place to do it and couldnt trust a shop to do it for me. So I was like, screw this, I am going to do it at autozone parking lot and get over it.

 

I was going to ask the same question.
I hope you did not leave 8 quarts of used oil on the parking lot.

 

lol, no i used a catch can and then poured them into the empty mobil one bottles. And then gave them to autozone They take used oil.

lol. You guys sound like it takes you an hour to get it done. It is a very very easy job....

 

Think of your car as a woman.... get in, it's done and get out. All in 15 minutes Then you are ready for another 7 thousand miles before you need to do it again!
