I haven't had as much time as I thought to work on this project but here are a few new pics. I still have to fabricate the turbo to intercooler pipe, install a tension arm for the alternator, buy a couple more silicone connectors, and finish a small amount of wiring. I can't wait to fire it up and drive it to the exhaust shop.

What kind of power can you get from this setup? What is your estimated RWHP?

I'm guesstimating around 350rwhp with a broad power band 2.8-7k. I'm basing this off of the fact that a stock Evo 8 @ 24 psi makes 330 ALL wheel horse power. If you have a large budget you can get 600-1000+whp

350whp may be a little high for an Evo8 16g with a stock 6-bolt engine. The 6-bolt has a low 7.5:1 compression pistons and the Evo8's are 8.8:1. But, that means you can run more boost with lower compression..... plus the if its an early 6-bolt it has the larger rods too.

Yeah it is a big rod 6 bolt, 7.8:1 CR. I was also considering a lower drivetrain loss into my guesstimation. Plus I have a waste gate dump, 3 inch exhaust, and two forms of intercooling(FMIC and Water/meth). Oh yeah, I also have balance shafts eliminated and only running water pump and alternator. It's going to be loud when the waste gate opens. I think the record for the big 16g is over 450AWHP now.

Nice.... should be a lot of fun. At times I really miss my DSM's but most of the time I do not lol. What I miss the most is DSMLink, I ran 10's in my 95 Tsi self tuned with DSMLink.

Nice, I plan on running Link when I swap out the block and turbo in a year or two. At that point I'll have to change to a different rear axle and will probably strip it down to the bare essentials.
I find myself checking Craig's List for DSM's all the time...

I'm waiting on a silicone coupler to arrive. It's the last part I need to complete my IC plumbing. There is a dyno about a mile from me. As soon as I get it broken in and street tuned I'll have to get over there and see how it does.

I got my coupler today. After my eye exam I'll finish the plumbing. I'll also get some video or at least some more pics up tomorrow or Thursday. I noticed it will be 1 year since I started this thread/project tomorrow. I may be slow but hopefully the car won't be. I just hope the differential and drive shaft hold up.

I finally cranked the car today. I have a few small issues to work out but overall everything is good. I ran a manifold vac/boost line to the fuel pressure regulator and combined with a 2nd gen maf the fuel correction at idle is only -3%. Should be easy to tune. I'll probably have a video up early next week.

Any idea what you have in this cost wise I can get my hands on multiple 4g63s the damn things are a dime a dozen out here. If you could just list the major costs. What are you doing for an engine managment?

After selling a lot of the OEM parts I have just under $3k in it.
Long Block $450
Built TH350 $400
Trans adapter kit (used) $250
Evo 8 turbo and manifold (used) $300
FMIC and IC piping $250
1G AWD 5 speed ECU $45
SAFC2 $125
B&M ratchet shifter w/cable $125
Head rebuild $125
Torque converter $150
Drive shaft adapter $85
Timing components $200
The rest is gaskets, hose, wiring, gauges and lots of little things that really add up. I found a lot of deals on these things over the past year through ebay and craigs list. You could easily spend 10K or up depending on how fast you want to go with it. I'm probably going to switch to DSMLink or an Evo 8 Ecu next year. I had the LM-1 wideband and the water meth injection in the car all ready so I didn't include that in my cost. The irreversible part of the swap is having to distort the front of the trans tunnel for clearance. Not driving the car for a year was a pretty hefty cost too.

Right now there is an adapter for the T56 6 speed, R154 toyota Supra tranny, and an adapter for any Toyota W 55-59 tranny.
