How to gut the cats....first remove the exhaust from the car...next you will need a grinder with a cut off wheel to cut a 4 inch by 4 inch square on the cats...save the pieces you will need to weld them back on....once you have the square cut out you will expose the guts in the cat...take a screwdriver or chisel with a hammer and break up the guts...make sure you get it all out...weld the squares that you cut out back on n bolt it back up...done

So I'm new around here and have a lot to learn but why would you want to "gut" your cats? They are there for a reason.

Thanks for the heads up bro, you seem to know a lot and you do help me a lot so I thank you. Do you have some insite on the best way and easiest way and what to use to gut the rear cats? Cause dose the y pipe make it like impossible to put a pipe down either side?

They have all answered your question already. If you don't want to cut them and weld them back, then don't do it. You are not going to gut them without removing the exhaust and having to cut and weld.

If you are not willing to do this, or pay someone to do it, stop asking about it.

I have a small vial of unicorn tears, if dripped in just the right position, you can melt right through those pesky old catalytic converters

I'd suggest finding someone who has a welder and buy some pipe and cut out the cat and sell it for junk. The cat contains platinum making them more valuable than they look.

OR

You could invest in a welder.

OR

You could find a community college or high school auto shop and talk them into doing it for next to nothing.

i got it done. thank you to everyone. i used a piece of metal rebar cut a point in it with a saw and pounded the **** out of both rear cats. used a bigger pole to break the pieces so they were about to come out. both cats took me about an hour not on a lift off of the ground on jack stands. used a vac like people said and turned the car on at times to shoot everything all out. thanks to everyone
