I think I am trading her in...
Re: I think I am trading her in...
Nothing says "give me a ticket" more than a throaty Mustang with a fancy paint scheme, hood hold downs and an air scope with a "COBRA" logo.
Unless, of couse, it is being driven by a youngster.
JHoward, if you drive one of those, THE POLICE WILL MAP YOUR MOVEMENTS.
And put a new pool table for the Headquarters rec room in their budget.

Howard, I have to agree with the MO guys above - buy a Cobra & every cop for miles around will put you on their collective list-o-drivers-to-watch. Kiss any anonymity goodbye!
That said, the problem with trading in these cars, is that you become spoiled & there really isn't anything else out there today that can compare.
Mustangs - they're everywhere, in every conceivable form, so there's hardly anything unique about them. Same with the new Camaros: there are already 3 of them driving around my little home town of 5K, soon they'll be everywhere.
As to your concerns about long-term cost & maintenance; no doubt, these babies aren't cheap (& you're right about tires - try owning 2 of them!) but both of mine are extremely reliable & both are pushing 80K, something I can't necessarily say about any other car I've owned.
Perhaps "your" Mustang being sold was an omen - you're fated to continue to own your Crossfire !

Re: I think I am trading her in...
Are the tires for that mustang really much cheaper than the tires for our crossfires? And as for repairs, cars are getting so complex that good problem solving mechanics are nearly non existant. They all seem to want to just throw new parts at the car until something works. All repairs seem more expensive than what is justified. I don't have an answer for your delemma that is any better than Frank's earlier post.
"Owning a Crossfire at the age of 18 is like marrying the best girl in school at 18." That is an image I can understand and appreciate. Great writing, Frank.
