WoW I got VERY lucky!!!
Re: WoW I got VERY lucky!!!
Here in the great state of Washington, WSP gets impounded vehicles, outfits them with lightbars then goes out and has fun.
I remember coming home from school once, going north on I-5 in the left lane when I noticed an e36 M3 smashing, weaving in and out of traffic.
So naturally I move over, and noticed that I was going 75MPH. The m3 zoomed by so fast that he was probably pushing 100+
Long story short, a few miles down the road I see the M3 on the shoulder and think LOL
Turns out it was a cop, and that the m3 had pulled over some POS van
Scary **** seeing an M3 lighting up like a christmas tree

BTW my 120 mph isn't in the context as what you have described. I also would like to note that in your OP you never mentioned slightly tapping the brakes. Instead you said you brake checked him.
I think the reason alot of people are jumping on you is because you don't seem to think that anything you did today was wrong.

I think the title shows clearly that i am well aware of what i did was wrong hence I got lucky. If i didnt do anything wrong, then i wouldnt have felt lucky.
Re: WoW I got VERY lucky!!!
Tapping on the brakes just enough for the lights to come on when someone is tailgateing me is something I do regularly. If they persist to tailgate I lock 'em up and stop. If they hit me then its their fault (charged with following too close). I get my car fixed or get another one. Just brace myself and hold the brakes to the floor. So far I have not been rearended but it has been very very close. Mind you if it was a tractor trailer or something large like that I would not do that I would just let them tailgate.
Cop or not, I still tap my brakes just so the lights come on.

Or it implies that you got lucky you didn't get a ticket because you were acting like a dumbass in front of a cop.
You obviously lost your cool in the car and tried to control the car behind you by brake checking him.
Re: WoW I got VERY lucky!!!
Other than the arguing about who is doing the wrong thing at the wrong time here, the one positive thing I have got from this thread is, most of you young people seem to be safe and courtious drivers, I did say (most), and to me that is a plus.
Here in Michigan the worst drivers on the road are #1 young females with cell phones, middle age females, with cell phones, and young guys with cell phones and hot cars,

I've never tried to hide my past actions and infact offered up the information on doing 120+ trying to help you understand why we were all coming down on you so hard. Reasoning with you is pointless though. Wise guy lol

Everyone please be careful with the whole if I brake check and they hit me they are at fault belief. Check your local, state, county ordinance. In my state anyone who brake checks a tailgating car is charged with reckless driving and arrested, car impounded, go see the judge. The person that hit you walks away as it is not an accident if intentional. Everyone just be safe and be mindful of others.

Re: WoW I got VERY lucky!!!
Iam old and have previously done the kid brake thing, and Iam still here to carry on because of LUCK.
Here is a simple thing that works and will not get the Judge on your *** like the dummy behind you or is that in front of him, but I digress.
Simply turn on your parking lights IN THE DAY TIME of course. It indicates that your feel crowded and allows them to see your cars increased visibility without any brake reaction time issues. It works and is as far as I have been able to understand not in violation of any laws nor malicious in intent or commission. That I would feel confident arguing in court.
Kinda like the windshield thinggy.

Re: WoW I got VERY lucky!!!
Things I have learned from this thread:
I am correct in automatically assuming every Crown Vic on the road should be assumed to be a cop car. I learned this when I first started driving, nearly 20 years go, and have yet to be pulled over by a moving Crown Vic.
Someone thinks he's a mafioso, and enjoys calling everyone a "wise guy".
I grew up in NYC, and one of my best friends was Italian, and his family was in the Trucking business, and I met and knew actual members of various families, and none of them talked like this guy here does.
Every thread on the internet gets hostile and hilarious, not always in that order, when one person tries to prove that their thoughts or actions are better than others, and then the others say that their idea of "better" is even dumber than the original issue raised.
Someone always says "I knew this thread was going to hell in a hand basket", and is typically a moderator.
That my driving style isn't s bad as others, and I really need to step up my hostility on the road.
I hope most of you enjoyed this thread as much as I did.
